http://gambia.dk/forums/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=7722&SearchTerms=land,,issue

After having been told that an unknown person started walking around on his plot claiming that he owned the land my ex-husband had bought several years ago, he travelled to Gambia in October last year to clarify the situation. It turned out that the other person was a policeman! My ex-husband paid the well-known lawyer Ousaino Darboe 10'Dls to take on his case – but he did nothing at all in two months.
He turned to another lawyer, and both parties were then called to a judge for a hearing. The other party did not appear but expressed through his attorney that his papers was not yet clear. A new date for hearing was set but the same thing was repeated once more. Then it was summer break and new date was set for October. Once again the other part announced that his documents are not ready to be shown up!!! New date is set for November.
My ex is now convinced that the judge is bribed / paid to postpone the matter again and again calculating that the person living in Sweden will soon have to go back and simply is forced to give up. There obviously are no documents.
So what should he do now? Bribe the judge to rule in his favour??? What would the price be

Kiwi are you writing about the same Darboe as this, "lawyer Ousainou Darboe, the UDP leader," ? from what you have written everyone who has a hand in this affair,Except your Ex husband has behaved very very badly. What can I write ? I have a very great deal of sympathy with your Ex husband how should he proceed now when he has been failed by the very system that should have given him justice and a fair hearing ? I do not know.I am certain that someone here on Bantaba knows what the next step for your Ex.husband should be and I hope that they will do the correct thing and send you a message in confidence so you can pass on what the recommendations are.I hope things get sorted.

If your experience of him as a lawyer is anything to go by,he has shown himself to be totally unreliable. If he was to be elected to political office in an administration responsible for The Gambia and her people, could this man do the job ?
