Edward Anthony Gomez, the Attorney General and minister of Justice has clarified that the state has no idea about the whereabouts of Ebrima Manneh, a reporter with the Daily Observer newspaper.
"He also said that records have revealed that Kanyiba Kanyi and Ousman Jatta (alias Rambo) applied for Write Habeas Corpus against the director general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the Attorney General to produce them for trial before Hon. Justice Manogeng on 7th June 2007. He said the application was then granted and the then director of Public Prosecution appealed in Appeal No: 14 of 2007 dated 7th June 2007 for the state arguing that the said persons were never in custody of the state at any time and that the appeal is still pending."
