I don't really know how to begin to put my thoughts into words, most of the forums appear to have become adversaral battlegrounds between members and I feel that in some cases participants are distressed and insulted by what others have written.

I think to be a good blogger you have to detach yourself sometimes. People get too serious over issues. To me it is healthy to discuss issues. The important thing is that as Gambians we are not used to free speech at home and this forum is giving is something we have ever dreamt of. I am not surprised that people will be angry.
This is a democracy-taking root and it’s at infancy in the Gambia. Besides many unspoken issues are now being brought to light here. Naturally many have problems they want changed in the Gambia and frustration just builds up here.
However, we will learn democracy gradually. It reminds me of a prisoner who spent over 20 years in jail. When he came out and picked up a job in a grocery store, he could not go to toilet without asking his supervisor. He was not used to freedom in prison. They had to train him again that he could do things without asking.
This is the example of Gambia. One man has all the power and when freedom is suppressed it leads to anger. CHILDREN LEARN AND REAPEAT WHAT THEY LEARNT AS CHILDREN. PEOPLE WHO ARE OPPRESSED TEND TO OPPRESS ALSO BEACAUSE THAT IS WHAT THEY KNOW.

There are forums around where gambian issues are discussed very heatedly without interruptions from nonentities from outside. I have a feeling that Bantaba is being divided and the division is gaining grounds. It's very sad that gambians of the 21st century are still so vulnerable and are prepared to swallow anything. Gambians are gambians yet we are very, very different. A gambian friend of mine, we are perfect friends but toally from different backgrounds, has once said this. Am beginning to realize what he keeps saying. No wonder my friend is so choosey when it comes to forums.
Bantaba is becoming a unique forum. |

Now i understand what you are talking about. Sometimes you dont know if they are white after all. Everyone takes on an identity and names they want. You might be suprised that many names are not what they are. Some could be Gambians posing as some other nationality. |

What is the reason for this statement toubab? I have not been a visitor to the forum for some time now due to some extra schedules and I am kind of disturbed by this headline. |

Bamba is your mission to force white people off bantaba and make it a blacks only site? That would be sad. |

I dont think that should be allowed. You do not have to exclude yourself no matter what you are. In these days, you have to stand up for what you believe in otherwise you will never leave "foot prints in the sands of time".
Self exclusion or censorship is a sign of weakness. bantaba is open to all and saundry. Dont jus be too personal. Chill out and come back. Have a cuppa tea |

Taalibeh good to see you. You have been absent for a while. I hope you did not drink a lot of the magic water lately. |

No konds, I did not.
Actually, I have been absent only on my contributions but I have been able to read most if not all of the postings. I kind of addicted with your companion. I have been enjoying you all along.
I am just busy with some schedules. |

I've heard from home that Yaya is getting his stalwarts to invade net forums, that's where his opponents are. But am highly suspicious that the ones here am talking about are whites. Onething am happy about, i'll never need Yaya´s money for the rest of my life.
Can u imagine " the disintegration of Bantaba". Can u imagine heartless racists are telling blacks, victims of racism for centuries now, that they are racist. There has a be a limit to what people can swallow. If u dont mind, the black race will never make as a race. |

Gambiabev, there are gambian forums where there are no whites or less whites as in bantaba. If i had wanted not to mix with whites, i would not have been a listmember in bantaba. Am living comfortably in a white society and i have a son with a white woman. Are u not ashame u whites in bantaba of accusing me of being a racist?
If it gets to the crutches, u whites accusing me of being racist can take bantaba. |
