I hope we can agree on this.
Alhassan, This is exactly what is expected of every member of the Bantaba. Thanks!

Modou, I wonder if the people on this forum understand what you have been doing online. Reading some of the postings does not convince a serious person to take part. It seems as if they want it the Gambian way. They have no thing to offer expect foul language. Some of the postings here miss the concept of the forum. Instead of exchanging ideas in a possitive way you end up being pointed at. Typical Gambian. For those of you from Sweden , it is better to get organised in serious projects to help Gambia. The disintregration among Gambians there is very serious. They end up in different religious so called DIARA so as to collect money for their marabouts. Reading most of the profiles , it shows that hiding behind names will never comntribute possitively. This I would like to debate on. Why all the funny names? What is the problem? Why all the hide and seek |

Those statements appear to be mis-representations and that is why I recently join Bantaba to show we are not equals and many Gambians are intelligent, sound and decent people. |

He was a great figure and fighter. He is an example that governments need to be kept on their toes to achieve one's rights. They don’t come easy and to expect the reverse is to dream with one's eyes open.
It thinks postings should not be personal. They should be based on burning issues that we will all benefit from. It should serve as a means to exchange ideas with one and another.
I have tried as much as possible to avoid talking about individuals but a system. Personal attacks are not productive. I hope we will be able to discuss issues with maturity and dignity, which means convincing each other regarding the best way forward. It should also help all of understand the vast cultural and historical differences we share.

Alhassan... my screenname has been my nickname for many years and it is the name i have used online since i learned to turn on a computer many years ago.
I will not put my full name on any profile as i feel it is unsafe to do so! It is a strange world out there with some even stranger people.By using my full name i am open to anyone finding my address and telephone numbers. Personnally i feel this could be putting my family or myself at risk.

I look forward to seeing how this discussion develops those who have posted so far are being very coy! (Babygirl your last paragraph should not be necessary within a discussion group, but in this day and age I think that you are taking the right approach, well done.) |

This is a serious criticism and should be scrutinized. Before I join the bantaba, I used to see very positive and educative postings from people like amna whoes contributions are not forthcoming any more.
They might have been kept away because of the direction this forum has taken. To be honest there are a lot of current issues that should be discussed and debated on here rather personal attacks. We should put this forum to a better use.
I think people like kondorong can take a leading role in positively shaping the structure of this bantaba. The guy talks a lot of sense and a lot of benefits could be derived from individuals like that.
We are all coming to the bantaba, I suppose, to exchange ideas and stuff. No disrespect to anyone but I am sure there is room for improvement for all of us. |

Waalaykum salaam, I have not seen the Code of Conduct but shall post it as soon as I have it. In the meantime, the first person to lay hands on it should post it here.

Momodou, The Point newspaper carried an article of The Code of Conduct on 10th Feb 2006, followed by references to the code on 16th Feb 2006 under 'NADD still in tact.' regards, sab.
