I presume the 250 grams (not grains as reported) is for sale not personal use. In that case, the defendant may be facing a felony possession of a prohibited substance. This is not near in comparison to what "Jesus" was selling for the "Big man" , but in some jurisdictions it could fetch 10 year jail term.
So the sentence itself may not be excessive, but I am not sure what the grounds of the appeal would be...
