What i meant here was that we GAMBIANS AS OWNERS OF THE GAMBIA, MUST TAKE HER DESTINY IN OUR HANDS(GAMBIANS). THOUGH THERE ARE NON-GAMBIANS OUT THERE WHO ARE TRUE FRIENDS OF THE GAMBIA, THEY CAN'T COME IN JUST LIKE THAT, THEY MUST SEE THE OWNERS FIRST TRYING OUT SOMETHING THEN THEY(NON-GAMBIANS) CAN FOLLOW SUIT WITH THEIR ASSISTANCE(HELPING HAND)
I hope i have made myself clear. Your SANKOFA MAGIC HAS NOT AFFECTED MY BRAIN.(LAUGH)
Anyway thanks for the reminder
Well good to know Sankofa has not affected you. Stay strong brother. I like your sprit and maturity. |

This is a quotation from the Islam. According to Islam, David was both a king and a prophet. He used to go out at night and ask about how the king was. many people said nice things about him. He would dress in old clothes to disguise himself. One day, he met some one who said that even though he is just, he does not live by his sweat. He told David in disguise that the king was living off their wealth.
David cried to God to give him a trade to live by. He then became a black smith and would sell what he made from the trade to live on. I heard this on late Bun Jeng's tapes. |

Junkung is on record unless the tapes have been destroyed that when he travels, not only is gambia given something, but he is also personally given gifts. It is corruption. There is no personal gift when on an official mission. No one gave him gifts when he was driving the trucks to kanialai.
It is cheating. Trips funded by tax payers should not be used for personal profits. All gifts should be surrendered to the state and kept at the dept. of forein affairs. It can help in gauging our foreign policy. Unfortunately, we do not keep a good register of gifts. IN THE GAMBIA THEY ARE PERSONAL AS JUNKUNG SAID. NO WONDER HEADS ROLLED AT HEALTH WHEN AN ENVELOPE WENT MISSING DURING THE BEIJING CONFERENCE. TUTI WAS VERY MAD AND JUNKUNG A MONEY MAGNET NEVER FORGAVE THE PERSON WHO DEVOURED THE ENVELOPE. THEY KNOW THEMSELVES. |

Thanks for the contribution
madiba
The alternative is to try vey hard to eliminate the waste and channel the savings on these projects. All nations secure loans, some use the proceeds for the purposed it was sought and others (like the Gambia) use them for only yaya and his wishes, period.
We cannot depend on loans for ever. When are we going to repay then. You are not taking more loans than you can service with your wages. I am sure you will not even contemplate doing that. |

This is encouraging. Donours should insist on certain standards to be upheld in implementing projects they sponsore. Without this yaya will run away with all our money. |

LEMON TIME,
Are you saying that am not among the sensible because i should have said that Yaya takes his shares on our loans? I can't say such because i am not privy of such information yet. For your information most of the Building infrastructure at Kanilai was a dash call it a bribe by a local contractor in the Gambia. I will not call names but Your guess is as good as mine.
I have never said anywhere here that Jammeh is clean. I know corruption is rife as ever. However if his gov't contracts loans and it is done to build roads or other development projects so be it.
I WILL NEVER SAY ANYTHING ON THIS FORUM THAT I CAN'T SUBSTANTIATE! |

maadiba, thats okay, i to reacted quickly as soon as heard I asked Bantaba for information, help and correction. I have visions of coup being guns, bodies the UN evacuating people. How dramatic is that. i never imagined that the "coup" was not a "coup". like you i have the country at heart but this situation has got to change. I am happy about the roads and electricity. but still ask why it has taken so long. |
