Does anyone know where Kukoi Samba Sanyang is hiding these days? The guy has been allegedly implicated in the on going treason trial of General Tamba and others. He has been out in the media before writing and claiming to be this or that. Doesn't he have the moral obligation to come out and clear the air?
First it was alleged that he one time wrote to President Wade of Senegal and now he is named into a deeper problem. Doesn't he owe the Gambian people or in the interest of transparency the obligation to come out and tell us what he knows? How could he ever be trusted if he continues to be silence in the face of such allegations? Read more about his alleged involvement in staging a coup against the Gambia gov't.
Him clearing the air or telling us what he knows will further cement or discredit what gov't witnesses are saying in Banjul.
Kukoi, if you are with us in Bantaba tell us what you know... If anyone have his email send it to us privately and we will interview him. Send the mail to editor@gainako.com.
This is too serious an allegation for us to look the other way. Security of our citizens and nation should be the concern of all Gambians and friends of the Gambia. Foreign invasion is a serious infringement of our national sovereignty.

dbaldeh are you relying on witness statements from a criminal (cocaine dealer/dubious businessman) Don't you think that it could be a mafia style indictment and a million dalasi ramson on offer This is a case where The President has vested interest to condemn at all costs! Think smart for he dishes out D1,000,000 to patronise for political reasons! These two witnesses have been bought already and what they are doing is not voluntary because they are being manipulated at a price (as they are hungry for the money to scandalise). They are used as pawns for Jammeh to endgame with checkmate.
So far nothing is credible to substantiate the allegations. Its only mere alarming fabrications in my opinion.
Kobo, I don't buy the witness testimonies at all, however since these are alleged eye witness account with the witnesses claiming to be part of the conspiracy, I believe in such a situation it becomes the defense's burden to not only discredit the witnesses but also proof their innocence.
My concern is that the testimonies are so graphic that the defense may not be able to proof their innocence beyond reasonable doubt. Not that it matters in present Gambian legal system but in the court of public opinion the defense may be damage forever.
So any counter argument or publicity from those allegedly named in the trial might help at least to ease public opinion especially in the Diaspora. For me this is more for the history books than what will happen to these folks. Many can already probably guess the outcome.
I just think it is too serious of a matter for anyone to get away from such false testimonies. I also have a feeling that the statements and narration might have been written my members of the regime and rehearse by the witnesses. One can sense the inconsistencies in their testimonies.
Probably a written statement or interview with Kukoi detailing where he has been during the times the witnesses alleged to have spoken to him might help the defense. Oh well, I am also aware that people like Kukoi sometimes like to pretend to be something they are not...
