You've hit the nail right on the head! The 2bab Project at Kinnack Koto is the model that needs to be adopted by all donor countries to ensure that Millennium Goals are reached. It is an example of Sustainable Development in progress, and what I have been advocating for the past 18 years.
I think that the UK should also adopt this model to create more jobs in the UK working in Africa and other developing nations to bring in intermeditaries who can support the facilitation of such projects by passing on know-how. The NCDO model is what Sustainable Development is all about. I would like to thank you Toubab for sourcing this information asnd sharing it with all of us.
Well done! I wish all of the Stakeholders involved in the project a successful outcome and to say that they're work is truly inspirational. By empowering Gambians and others to be responsible for securing their own livelihoods through a holistic approach and giving them the means to do so is Key to alleviating poverty and getting rid of the crippling effects of dependency and demotivation.
Opps... thats my problem fast fingers SISTER sorry! The UK would love to join in but just at the moment, we have no money, spent it all propping up the banks and paying for the recession, maybe in the future, I thought that you would like that link, I have to say that it looks as if everyone has got their act together and utilised the resources very wisely, I have the impression however that the project has cost a lot of money and I hope its sustainable, maybe its success is that it is in a rather remote area out of the way of prying eyes and the inevitable jelousy that surrounds things when they are succesful.

"Simple is good" & I strongly dislike politics. You cannot defend the indefensible.
What was also good about the project that it has the potential to provide seed corn for neighbouring projects and other co-operative assistance in the future too.
