ENTER GAMBIA THE BIRTH OF AN IMPROBABLE NATION BY BERKELY RICE is a must read for all Gambians to know how it was back in those days. Read http://www.gambia.dk/forums/topic.asp?whichpage=1&TOPIC_ID=2258

We have come a long way. Happy Independence Anniversary to all Gambians.

The Gambia National Anthem

For The Gambia, our homeland
We strive and work and pray,
That all may live in unity,
Freedom and peace each day.
Let justice guide our actions
Towards the common good,
And join our diverse peoples
To prove man's brotherhood.
We pledge our firm allegiance,
Our promise we renew;
Keep us, great God of nations,
To The Gambia ever true.

It could be described as colourful 45th Independence from diverse opinions for the Gambia our homeland & its coincidence with toppling of a coupist leader in Niger in the spirit of patriotism to save democracy, soverignty & protect constitutional rights of its citizens!

National colours are RED, WHITE, BLUE & GREEN.

Kobo, please don't spoil the topic. The topic is about us and our anniversary and not about Niger. That topic is already in it right place.

HOW DID JAMMEH CAME TO POWER & BRAGGING ABOUT PATRIOTISM AND JULY 22 REVOLUTION ITS POLITICS, COMPETITION & POWER STRUGGLE AND I FELT TOPIC IS TIMELY! ITS A COINCIDENCE OF HISTORY.

ADMIN. REGRET ANY INCOVENIENCE & IF PERCEIVED OFFENSIVE AS ATTEMPT TO SPOIL TOPIC!

WE ALL DECRY COUPS BUT THE INEVITABLE CAN HAPPEN BEYOND EXPECTATION AS JAMMEH'S COUP TO JAWARA; TAMPERED THE GAMBIA CONSTITUTION, EXTENDED HIS TERM & WITH EXCESS POWER ETC ETC

Don’t you think it would be appropriate to start a whole new topic on coups and July 22nd in a new thread instead?

Momodou, just ignore the guy. He is a twat. That is what I normally do. Anyway, happy independence in retrospect.

Thanks

You have your own personal problems as someone who is malicious, antagonist, a hater, spin master & tribalist 100%.

This topic is not to settle personal scores but about our independence, sovereignty, Gambian politics and for our common good.
I appreciate Momodou's as community leader to down play certain rhetoric but dis-agree with him that we don't need this topic here; as mentioned above already.

Forget about Niger if not for this topic but please consider why there happen to be a COUP D'ETAT CONSPIRACY FOR THE GAMBIA from Freedom newspaper Gambia: Yahya Jammeh’s Independence Speech Attracts Wild Reactions!!! under http://www.freedomnewspaper.com/Homepage/tabid/36/mid/367/newsid367/4957/Gambia-Yahya-Jammehs-Independence-Speech-Attracts-Wild-Reactions/Default.aspx

I WOULD ADDRESS YOU AS MY DEAR GAMBIAN BROTHER BUT NOT "A TWAT" FOR I DON'T WANT TO BE CONFRONTATIONAL ON THIS TOPIC

TO APPEASE YOU BROTHER NYARINGKANGBANA I HAVE MADE MY MARKS MORE FOR UDP THAN PDOIS. I HAVE BEEN VOTING FOR THEM, DARBOE AS PRESIDENT & NEVER DID I HAVE CHANCE TO VOTE FOR HALIFA SALLAH. I NEVER VOTED FOR SEDIA JATTA AS PRESIDENT BUT HAVE ONLY VOTED ONCE FOR SAM SARR PDOIS DURING JAWARA PPP DAYS AT BANJUL CENTRAL.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE AND PLEASE ACCEPT AN OLIVE BRANCH TO YOU, SATANGFARA & OTHER POLITICAL OPPONENTS WITH DIVERSE OPINIONS FROM ME IN THE INTERESTS OF RECONCILITION, PEACE & PROGRESS! CONSOLE YOURSELVES WITH YOUR INTELLIGENCE AND DON'T BE STUCK WITH YOUR PRIDE & PREJUDICES

AWAITING YOUR ACKNOWLEDMENT BROTHER NYARINGKANGBANA AS POLITICS DIVIDE FAMILIES AND NATIONHOOD
