Very damnning indeed.
Children:
Children have a right to an identity and therefore birth certificates are very important. Without that they can 'disappear' from the system.
ALL children have a right to an education and not to have to work.
ALL children have the right to choose who to marry and when.
Children with special needs have the right to an education and opportunities in life too.
Women:
Women don't have equality in this patriarchal society. They are subjected to domestic violence, unequal education and work opportunities, forced and early marriages, FGM, unequal divorce rights etc.. Sister Omega I hope you read this and take stock of it. In rural Gambia life is very different to at the coast. Women are beholden to men. Very poor men still take four wives without their wives accepting it.
Freedom of speech:
It takes a brave person to be a journalist in Gambia!!!
The prison service, the courts systems etc all need to be open to scrutiny.
People disappearing off the streets should be accounted for.

So much material to comment on.I look forward to seeing how government fans protect them against these reports. How do you defend the undefendable????

So anyone that dares to disagree either disappears or gets kicked out. What a man!!!

At Kwinella health centre I have seen the sachets of rehydration powder given to children who are seriously ill. They are clearly marked with the unicef logo.

I FEAR for the health of the children in these central, poor districts of Gambia without the support of agencies like UNICEF. Increasingly the risk assessment will be that Gambia isnt safe to send their workers to.

How many peoples lives will be lost by this action?

UNICEF are objective and believable witnesses.

I fear for the future of Gambia.

Kobo,

More thanks to you for this useful lead. How long shall we have to sit waiting for intervention from demons? Yaya jammeh has done more damage to Gambia and Gambians than what has been documented. This is no normal politics. This is crude brutality at peak point.

It is very unsafe to keep Yaya in Gambia. The time to cage him up has long past gone. He takes joy and pride in harming humans by different ways.

Sad for Gambia.
