I Really like the way this Judge runs his court,knows about people and The Gambia.

Wednesday, 13 January 2010 Justice Moses Richards of the Special Criminal Court in Banjul has told one Inspector Abdoulie Sowe, a prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of one Abdoulie Jallow to abide by the international standards when obtaining statements from accused persons, when they are alleged to have committed an offence.
Justice Richards made this declaration on Monday in the ongoing trial of one Abdoulie Jallow charged with the offence of rape contrary to Section 121 of the Criminal Code Cap 10 laws of The Gambia. The accused was alleged to have unlawful canal knowledge of a girl of 14 years without her consent on May 6, 2008 at Sanchaba SulayJobe in KSMD.
Inspector Abdoulie Sowe, a prosecution witness told the court that he obtained the accused cautionary statement at Bakoteh Police Station in May 2008. The said cautionary statement of the accused, Abdoulie Jallow was however admitted in evidence and marked as prosecution exhibit amidst objection raised by the defence counsel, Lawyer Badou S. Conteh, that his client was forced to thump print the said statement.
Justice Richards cautioned Inspector Sowe not to be a persecutor Justice. Richards said it is not every body that is brought to the station that is guilty. Justice Richards further said that he knows at the police level, the police want to take the suspect#146;s guts out in order to get everything they want. Justice Richards however cautioned the witness to abide by international standards in obtaining statements from suspects. #147;It could be you today or me tomorrow#148; he concluded. Hearing continues on January 26, 2010.

I Know, I really must stop banging on about this man I cannot help it, if all Gambians adopted his sense of fairness and compassion Gambia would be a really great nation,here he is again:

Posters now are not interested in commenting on improving aspects of Gambian nationhood,this topic has been read tens of times,comments from those interested in The Gambia,NONE. This may well be one reason why so many people who used to visit and post here have left. Will anyone bother to add their input ?
