Black Iraqis claim discrimination

Black Iraqis in the southern province of Basra are complaining of discrimination, saying they are not fairly represented in the state.

African Iraqis have lived in the country for centuries and now number more than one million.

Many of them are descendants of African slaves brought to Iraq. Many Iraqis still refer to them by their ancestral name, abeed - meaning slaves.

Salem Shaaban is a member of the Free Movement of Iraqis, advocating more rights for African Iraqis.

He says black people in Iraq feel there is a tradition of discrimination against them in the society.

"For example when two people fight in the street and one is black and the other is white, they say X had a fight with the slave. It really hurts."

'No place for blacks'

Shabaan says black Iraqis are also discriminated against when it comes to parliament representation and jobs.

Hi Momodou,

It is really a another sad case. Matter of fact, a friend of mine from Benin studied in that area. How some of these folks see us (Blacks) as slaves beats my imagination.

According to him, for example in Egypt, when someone says to a blackman "what is your time?" is meaning, look at your skin. You don't belong here and you should go back.

I will share Noah's story in a little...which I very well disagree with, explained to me as meaning ...being black is a sin dating from Noah's time as well.

how many of you heard about this??

It is stated that Prophet Noah (PBUH) had sons. He was in a deep sleep, and during that sleep, his cover fell off, so his private person was left open.

When one of the sons entered, he saw the old man in that funny state…he went laughing, so he turned black immediately, as a result of his sin.

When the other entered, he saw the man in that state, so he covered him…and remains.

I don't buy the story one bit…a discrimination and mockery in the highest order.

It is not conforming to the Quran, Bible, or any other scriptures. Eevn believers in the big bang theory will spare us on that one. Even though, we know through Noah's ship, humans and animals were spared…but this one was a beat, for real.

Now, I jealously ask: Was there any black prophet or messenger ever sent??

Al-Quran, God states:
quote:

(49:13) O mankind, We created you from one man and one woman, and then divided you into nations and tribes so that you may recognize one another. Indeed, the most honorable among you in the sight of Allah is he who is the most pious of you. *28 Surely, Allah is All-knowing, All-Wise.

Al-Quran, God states:

Thank you Dalton. Your question above is one of many reasons why organized religion in general is questionable. However, if you are looking for a Black Prophet, then you perhaps need to listen to Tamsier . You are not likely to find one in the Abrahamaic religions...
But coming back to your swipe at "the believers of the Big Bang", I must say that the "supporters of the Big Bang" theory, I mean those with a scientific view of the world, do not belief in myths of creation, skin color, or the flood...
Religion, to a large extent is part of the spoils of historical materialism that Marx, Hegel, Hume, and other empiricists warned about...

2pac will tell Jesus (PBUH) was, which is a whole debate I am not armed for now.

I share your humor about Tamsier. O well, if he will not do a traditional sweep on us...

Could be there are unknown ones not within the Abrahamaic's religion? Because the interesting part, the Quran mentions a large number, only 25 are mentioned by name. I just googled the link below, so I didn't check the link's authenticity, so read it with caution...
