Kay,
In principle, people who pass through army training are meant to be typically disciplined. Lot of people have gained their special standard of discipline by military training.
With Gambia as in other African nations, people of the army often turn into monsters. They talk about National Security and then turn the gun against the nation by seizing power. Yaya Jammeh of Gambia and many of his ilks are good examples in abundance.
Gambian army is nothing less than a clique. When people get desparate and think of the army to intervene in getting rid of Jammeh, that is to encourage further army indisciplne for governance is not just their job. The civil population needs rising against all forms of military invasion and total indiscipline shown by the arrogant club of bandits calling it army in power.
In short, there is serious issue of indicipline that cannot let go. We have to denounce and resist it tooth and nail. Kay, they are bandits with no discipline, a blatant negation of the basic principles why we call it army so to state. |
