232 Million Development Budget for the Army Camp Is this what is allegedly abused?

The visit of the President to the army camps revealed that a large sum of money had been allocated for the development of various structures at the cams to improve the welfare of the soldiers. It is important for the public to know how much had been allocated from the national venture towards the development of the army camps. In 2007 a sum of one million dalasis was approved. In 2008 the sum increased to two hundred and eleven Million dalasis. In 2009 the sum amounts to twenty Million dalasis.

Hence from 2007 to 2009 a sum of 232 Million had been allocated from the development budget for the development of the Army camps.
Under normal procedure, the auditor general is supposed to audit and report on the public accounts of the Gambia, the accounts of all offices and authorities of the Government of the Gambia once every year.
The Auditor General should report to the National Assembly on the accounts and draw attention to any irregularities in the accounts audited within 6 months of the end of the immediately preceding financial year. The question now arises: Is the President referring to the funds allocated under the development budget of the country when he made reference to irregularities in the use of materials designed for the rehabilitation of the army camps? Has the auditor General been auditing the accounts of the army? Did the president rely on this to make his allegation? Did he rely on the reports of agents investigating economic crimes?

Foroyaa will continue to investigate in order to find answers to these questions.

Definitely an appeasement strategy! A cunning move to garner support from Army, before the next elections campaign. Let the presidential campaign begin!

A systematic course of aggressive activities for some specific purpose: a sales campaign.
The competition by rival political candidates and organizations for public office.

This armed bandit is bleeding the nation in so many ways. Bleeding the national economy, bleeding human blood! It is wrong for him to condition other political parties by imposing 'permits' before they can hold meetings while he takes the whole state media as his showroom. Yaya Jammeh is not fit for purpose and very wicked too. He knows that.

Who the hell unleashed this bandit on the Gambian people is culpable too. This is insane, karamba. Yahya Jammeh must go. He's an insult to our collective conscience, taking the people for a ride.
Next time an unknown, arguably an alien, pops up and promises redemption to our Gambian folk, eyebrows should be raised, take a closer look, before any mass hysteria ensures. Seems like The Gambia has been screwed, and only ourselves can claim our country back.
Robbery in broad daylight by bandits claiming to be dictators of development. What development?

Come on guys, be moderate. If a few dozens of "teenagers" can walk away with 30mil for playing soccer, then the "guardians of the revolution" should be able to pull 200million.

What bothers me is the learned professor actually believes that he is outfoxing everyone!

True, true, Kitabul Arerr,

One way of stamping out this senseless matter is by refusing it. We don't let it live on. We say no to it and stay by that. It is all false hope building. Yaya Jammeh has nothing to offer Gambia. We have to stop him.

Prince, your observation is spot on. The other bit is that those in the army are seen by Yaya as his domestic guards and not for national security. For him, the word security refers to protection for only one person (Chairman Yaya Jammeh.)

Spending money on the army amounts to bribing them for his selfish domination.
