Folks I personally like all Gambians believe in peace, love peace and loved my country. But what is happening in my beloved country is sick and to add insults, foreign Nigerian nationals are given the ticket by yaya Jammeh to wreack The Gambia beyond repair. They have wreaked their own country and are on the verge of doing the same thing in Banjul.Should we sons of Gambia stand by and watch untill its too late in our own land?I am calling on all bonafied sons of the Gambia to avoid all contacts with nigerians in the Gambia to manifest our anger at the injustice sentencing of the six journalist. All Gambians should avoid nigerian Banks in the Gambia and stop all transactions with the nigerian bussinesses in the Gambia.Hopefully these stupid marcenaries will then come to realise their stupidity.

LOL... count me out my good sir Dembish. If you weren't a nice guy i'd go further to condemn your open call for xenophobia. The Nigerian judges were brought in by Gambians, if you have trouble with them, address your grievances with the persons who appointed them.
How do you think your proposition would help in strengthening the weak Gambian judiciary?
There are tons of very hard working Nigerians dedicated to legitimately advancing themselves. To collectively punish all of them for the activities of a few self-serving Nigerians would be ludicrous. Its like saying "we won't rent out cars to ALL Gambians because a few Gambians rented out cars and shipped them to their home country."
I won't bank with Nigerian banks not coz they are Nigerian.... i won't bank with them because i lack confidence in them. I'd do them same with all banks originating from countries with weak check and balancing institutions.
Hopefully, your post is just a joke and you'd move it to the humor section . |

Prince with all due respect to your opinion which you are entitiled to but I am with the opinion that the Nigerians are given a unique opportunity in the Gambia and untill now when they have just started abusing theses oppotunities. They are the only nationality exemted from the the alien tax, but of recent all the hideous crimes in the country are done by the Nigerian Nationals, Crimes such as, Kidnapping westerners, 419 operatives, money laudering, visa scam, fraud, murders, why? when we Gambian don;t even think of such why should we allow certain foreifgn natinals to tarnish our image.I belive like the fooball incident in dakar when the Gambians reacted and the result was good signal i wfe do similar thing in a civilised maaner by boycotting, result we be yeld too.I have closed my saving account with one of the local bank this afternoon 2pm and i will personally avoid all nigerian bussiness untill the six journalist are free.Thank |

Fair enough, but it will be really hard to boycott all Nigerian businesses... and even if you successfully do so, i doubt that it will have any effect on the Gambian judiciary. The Nigerian judges in the Gambia don't care for their country men (or other humans), so if they don't directly suffer from your boycott they won't give a damn. The lack of "country man" love in Nigeria is demonstrated by the rampant corruption in Nigeria.
You are either uninformed of the unilateral but frequent changes in immigration law made by our learned professor from Kanilai or you are just bias against Nigerians. FYI, "nationals coming from Mauritania, Republic of Guinea, Mali or Senegal are also exempted from having to pay the residential permit."
Like Moe said, we have unethical people in every group of people. You'd surprise to know that Liberians think that Gambians are one of the most ruthless spices on earth....... who sellout, brutally torture and kill, betray, and cannibalize humans. During my recent visit to Monrovia, some people were very suspicious of me... this is because a few Gambians were the henchmen of Taylor and his NPFL. They open rapped and "necklaced" people (hang a tire around a person's neck and light it up). I don't want to go into the activities of Gambians in the West coz that would be digressing from your topic.
A Gambian called "Jobs" was the commander of these child cannibals look at 3:40 min. So please don't dish out collective punishments, even God tries people individually... Hitler didn't. |

So prince whats your issue with the Nigerian Judges anyways, you don't seem to like the way they interpreted the Gambian law or do you want them to start being BIASED. What is your point?,the Law is simple and straight forward whether you like the outcome or not. Don't start confusing the laws and their actual interpretations bro. Any judge pink or purple if they applied the law will have no choice but slam the gates behind them. You are also failing to address the issue . You may not like the out come but don't blame the interpreter, all he did was interprete the Law , .
For those of ya'll screaming change by any means ,you better think again ,thats what chaos looks like, see the ugly faces of death......................................Peace

Moe, I believe that the Gambian judiciary is not impartial. Its interpretation of the laws and listening to the defense is clearly bias. My assumption is largely based on what i gather from the local and cyber press.... Nigerian judges have a history of being ethically challenged.... and i know this for sure, because i personally know one the Nigerian judges in Gambia. He is under-qualified for his job and was once suspended from the Nigerian bar for ethical reasons. Last time i checked, he can't practice in front of a judge in his home country.
Being bias is not limited to interpreting the laws. A judge could be bias by entertaining or listening to ridiculous charges with names like "government witching-screening." MOE, you are a smart fellow , it should not be hard to point out the obvious to you.

I do not support the targeting of Nigerian nationals for the shameful acts of the Nigerian members in the Gambia's judiciary. Any form of stereotyping and discriminating is wrong. I do feel however that there are fewer Ghanaian judges now than it used to be. There appears to be more Nigerians hired in the Judiciary than other West Africans. Is that the case? Why? |

Kay the answer to your question is very easy, Ghanian judges will never stoop so low , they rather leav the country than to serve a single person (yaya Jammeh).Thats why they are sideline in the gambian judiciary. But we all know whats happening in Nigeria and even the good nigerians will tell you their country men could be dangerous. So there is nothing wrong with them being in the in judiciary of The republic of The gambia, but PROVIDED they are there to execute the law as deemed fit by the constitution of the Gambia. But to served a presidents intrest against public intrest is a very dangerous move which could result to a public riots. We don't want that in our country, and its about time we stop weasting our time on the key boards, its not working , its action time and i believe my move is the best way to show our disgust with the system in place. If the nigerian bussiness suffer in the Gambia becourse of their fellow countrymen's stupidy, hopefully they will give a goood advice to each other in the gambia to be law abiding.Prince as you well said they might not be sensitve to their fellow nigerians plight,But we Gambians care for each other, and if we are real patriots, we should stand by our noble journalist who are right now fasting these holy month of ramadan in mile two, a place which they don,t deserve and has not done anything wrong to be there. The school in the gambia use to be having lots of nigerian in the past, but Moe they are no more the majority in our schools, the sirreleonians and Ghanains are, the nigerian use the country to get to europe and later tell to our faces that we are not smart,Cos like how their country is, in their sense smartness means conducting doggy deals, fraudolent, arm robbery, human sacrifice, the list goes on. comeon guys we don't want that in the Gambia.I even believe they should not be exempted from the payment of alien tax because they have abuse the golden opportunity given to them.If we shoul not blame the nigerian judge for helping Dictatorship in our country we should not blame those fellow gambians working for jammeh for as far as I am concern they are all doing the same job of wreacking our nation.By the way my friend too has cancelled an order yeasterday with a nigerian company over here and my campaign will continue. I am calling on more to join this noble venture for the sake of our Six journalist.Thank you all, thank you prince, Moe and kay. |

Dembish your actions speaks volumes of how misplaced your priorities are,When did you practice law to know that the way they are interpreting the constitution is wrong . The Gambian judges who work with them ain't questoning them who are you to say your flawed arguement is valid. " purouh do Gayraymm Nyamm me Daww" Both you and your friend are a bit confused with misplaced anger, why are you not striking against the constitution or the laws.
Do you think Gambia can ever pay back Nigeria for helping stabilize and maintaining our economy.Your problem Dembish is typical, you don't know what to be angry at so you choose the executor.Gambians back in the day used to go to Nigeria as a staging point to go to europe so you are obviously delirious.................................................Peace |
