lol. main point moe...... loads of reasons for holiday relationships...but i have personally never heard this theory that you mention of downplaying racist/sexist views etc etc
so i have to question how you can say it is a widley held belief.
where is your evidence for that please?
as regards the latter half of my post...well, that is an age old discussion but always one that evolves. so fire away buddy. |

Come on Moe as this thread was directed at me and being the gentleman that I am how could I refuse the request of a lady for my point of view.
I’m sure you can find the time to slot this in to your recent many postings to respond to Lurkers request as I am also interested in your point of view

BUT...
if there are some people ( a minority i would suggest) who want to downplay their sexist or racist agendas, why would they come all the way to gambia to fornicate with female or black or black/female (or male permutations thereof) just to assuage their guilt issues?
anyone who really knows them back home will be cognisant of their smelly views.
anyone who sees them smiling away in gambia (after assuaging their guilt in the bedroom) will think they are just tourists having fun, for they would never boast of their prejudices whilst on holiday in an african country.
i simply cannot see anyone ever comign to gambia to abuse the locals in any way, escept for reasons of personal satisfaction for sex or fun. to downplay their agendas would mean to publicise their hatreds first, else there is no purpose.
If they get a personal kick from such behaviour cos it it makes themselves feel better about their jaundice, then they do not need to come all the way over there so to do.
The more i think of this, Moe, the more preposterous that one sentence you mentioned sounds.
Did you read it somewhere, learn it or is this your opinion?
anyway, if there are a few saddos like that, they are surely a few only and they are pathetic, silent predators i would bet.
takes two to tango, though.

I thought there was some sexism to this topic (Old European women and Tourism). The European women, I think, are more of an asset to gambian tourism than the guys who are more of a liability. The girls brought the money and the commitment,they invest more in the local boys and in the economy...
Considering the recent trials and convictions of some on charges of pedophyle and related issues, European guys may be viewed more as liabilities... What do you guys think? |

| talking of these peeps contributing to the local economy, i guess this past year has seen a big drop in tourist footfall, numbers and forex input. How did the season go for those who live there and could tell? |
