Come on, people! "Robbed of his identity as a black man" - hello, who other than himself was bleaching his skin, who other than himself submitted (craved?!) plastic surgery that changed his actual proper features??? This is a man born and raised by two black parents!! A man who became famous even before he started messing about with his face! He was indeed a musical genius but seemed to have very serious mental health issues.
And suddenly because one of his brothers has converted to islam then MJ himself is now a muslim?? Hmmmm, how come this myth is only being perpetuated here since his death? Where were the interviews and the proclamations from Michael during his lifetime?
It's beyond laughable how you lot can rewrite HISTORY to suit your own ends ..... yeah, I also mean his album ... is there any mention of his faith on it??? Classic Bantaba nonsense at its best! Sheesh, wait a minute - maybe this was a CIA plot to stop him becoming famous?! I mean who would have ever heard of Michael Jackson before his untimely death????

| MeMe, I am not at all the only one to say that Jackson NEVER had the chance to become so famous if he stayed a normal Black - not in the 1980ies. This is not my 'paranoid' idea, but consensus among Americans who know the US showbiz. We Europeans, though we are quite 'good' at being racist, sometimes are very naive about the irrational, hysterical US racism. |

You tell them Meme. I know that there were certain people from the nation of islam in his circle of friends, but I have never ever heard him say he converted to islam or read somewhere [gossip or factual] that he was muslim.
As far as I am concerned. I agree with kaanibaa when he said:
'After all is said and done here, what remains is that a human being has died . He lived his life which some described as very interesting and others as tainted, whatever it was , my opinion is that human beings are infallible and he being one has his faults too. Now that he has died I hope people would focus on the many good things that he has done , leaving the rest to him in his grave.'

Well there is a rumour since last year. (Now 21 2008, by the British Newspaper). Obviously now he is death, that is a news.
However, if he is a member of Nation of Islam. That is not a religion. It is a political move so he would not be considered as Muslim.

Didn't your mama tell you not to talk bad about death? Anyway. Why is it big deal to you, if Muslim Gambians are talking about his being Muslim? I am not sure what you are saying to be honest. What is your point when muslims wonder if Michael Jackson really became a muslim. He is famous. He is just died. There is a speculation that he became a muslim, so what is so negative?
