Faderabraham..2 wives at same time or one after the other?

Do you mind me asking how many children and Grandchildren you have?

And do you still live in Gambia?

I am always curious how polygamy works in practice. It wouldnt be for me, but I can see the advantage in countries where the housework is so physical. Also if the wives get on they can share the child care, which is great.

But I wouldnt want to share my man!

To me it depends if the women has any power in the decision. Does she have the right to refuse? Does she have other economic posibilities?

If anyone has read Jane Austen (1750's in UK) women had very pragmatic view of marriage. They married for security and money, not love in our modern sense.

As women get more education and more personal income they have more freedom to choose a mate or not!

I'm at a loss of what to say - losing a child must be the hardest experience to survive. Surely this puts any/all petty arguments here on the Bantaba (and elsewhere) into perspective, Faderabraham. Thanks for the timely reminder!

Also thank you for being so honest and please accept my heartfelt sympathies for your losses.
