I was going through some old family documents when I came across my 4 times great grandfather's death certificate. In his course of death, it reads 'senile derry'. It could be senile darry; dizzy; dazzy or dezzy. I can read the 'senile' part but the other 4 letter word which starts with 'D' and ends in 'Y' I simply couldn't make out. Does any one knows what this illness is? I think it may be senile dementia but at the time the certificate was written, they may have had a short hand for the disease. I could be totally wrong. I've looked in the internet but can't find anything to that effect. He was 80 years old when he died. Can anyone help?
