This is a reminder that Ms. manneh's case will be heard on August 18th 2008.

If any have magistrate Jawo's home phone, cell, e-mail or faxes, I would like with the help of all patriotic citizens of our world, to iniate "Operation Free Fatou Manneh," Chief manneh and all others. This will require us to start sending standard letters demanding true justice to many departments. You can send magistrate Jawo's contacts via private mail if you are not comfortable posting it openly.

Brother Dalton,
Its a noble idea to intiate any opeartion that would free any prisoners of conscience anywhere in the world much more a Gambian sister.
However this proposal could land both in trouble knowing the jittery nature of the Banjul regime. Under normal cicumstances I think its not legally proper to speak to a magistrate or judge handling a particular case. I think the legal minds on bantaba could advise.
I know this magistrate, i can tell he's a man of intergrity. He's also very passionate about his job. So nothing would budge him if he feels that it goes against the profession. |

When Saddam Hussein was getting dealt with, his Chief magistrates were not left behind. Despite my disagreement with the way that they (The saddamites) were executed, it serves as a lesson to any other person that might support tyrannical administrations.
I am of the view that if magistrate Jawo cannot render true justice, he can as well excuse himself of the case. From our part here, reminding him (Jawo) of the importance of true justice, and how the international community is watching on him, will go a long way influencing his decision. It will be better for him loosing his job while being truthful than keeping his job under a kangaroo justice system. The shout is now! If he is sworn to protect justice, there is nothing less, nothing more. Just that!!
But thanks for your thoughts bro Madis, and hopefully others will way in. Once that happens, we will take it from there. Since he was your former classmate, your testimony about him shall greatly weigh in.
