At present with the gloomy cloud of recession hovering over Britain any news of financial difficulty would be sending shivers down Gambian Experiences spin. Just to think Jambo witnessed 37 empty seats on board the aircraft. Yet still Rowles wants us all to believe that everything is dandy credit crunch and all.
I suppose if he says it long enough at least he'll believe it.
As for cheap tickets it probably would better if they did cut their profit margins just a bit and lowered some of their fares. Because less Tourists will be burning plastic especially with the media reporting that Britain is heading or is already in recession. Then in today's Metro it was reported that Tourists will have to pay £30.00 aircraft Tax when flying by 2020 by a European Directive. No wonder Mr Rowles was compelled to write into the other Gambian website to try and stage damage limitations. Rowles roll out cheaper flights off peak and you will get more customers flying again.
Peace

i will be watching GE website, but i wonder would it have hurt to lower prices during the summer most people onthe flight had booked within 6-4 weeks of flying, outside of gambians returning home. I would think dropping thepirce off the holidays, an extra 10-15 people all book a holiday, more money in hotel, looks better for the company, if the hotel is booked why not fill it. would love to know the business model he uses. |

This topic seems to be getting confused. When I posted at the start of this topic.(Please re read) My information came from a friend that works in a office in Gosport, which is about 8 miles from Gambia Experience office in Fareham not from Banjul airport. Maybe Mr Rowles is talking on a different matter. Tom |

Maybe Tom,let's wait and see, time will tell,Thanks for the reminder as to where your information originated. I have to say that although GAmbia experience are expensive they are one of the few companies that have participated fully in the Gambia I am sure that you have seen town names on boards sponsored by Gambia experience, there are fewer now as the names appear to be sponsored by someone french judging by the designs that I have seen recently. |

Doctor Thomas indeed this was the case.
The reason there seems to be some confusion is that someone had cut and pasted part of an original conversation with Chris Rowles but not the initial thread. Maybe I can shed some light on the situation. Concerns over GE financial situation had been raised on another forum a few travellers myself included had heard a variety of rumours including a senior member of ground staff at Banjul airport (Hence the reference to the airport). There had also been the suggestion that their budget had been over stretched with the addition of other destinations (hence the reference to Serenity Holidays). Chris Rowles had then replied to that post as far as I know he has not responded here. It seems that the confusion over GE might in fact be that Astraeus has gone bust and it could be GE connection with them that lead to the confusion. Incidently on checking the CAA/ATOLDATA database for info on Gambia Experience the database shows that the company is trading strongly. Their sales for December are currently 7683 |
