If jammeh's convoy can ran over a 12 year old child and minched him without even stopping, to me nicking a generator from those poor people is not even a crime to jammeh if you compare the two.

Dembish

One of those sad things, indeed. Ability and readiness to serve is not the same as having a hidden agenda. There are people out in some place of public works who prefer serving as dockers rather than sit in the shed as data entry clerk for the same pay scale. The reason is that they expect more back kicks under the sun than none or little under the shed. For Mr Jammeh, being president also translates as being the best chosen. In that way of seeing things, he has to choose what is best. He plays the part of lion as king of the jungle; takes the best and whatever remains, to be scrambled over by all the other animals.

Jammeh tells us he is out to serve. We know he is only serving his pocket and extended personal interests.

You know what? Good people of Gambisara deserve better than having their community power generator taken away and not even exchanged.

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. First of all where was the parents? and why are you here telling us about an accident. Jammeh was not driving and I promise you like you rightly said "Jammeh's Convoy" didn't even stop but where the hell in this world did you see a presedential convoy stop because of an accident. How old are you partner..................................Peace

What is the matter with you????? We are talking about a human life here. Are you trying to tell us that it is ok for presidential convoys to run people over, its ok for them to kill?? Sure Jammeh was not driving, but he must have felt that the car hit something/some one. This is a 12-year-old kid, where is ur compassion, do you have a heart at all??? Danm

I wish it was your son moe,( seriously) then you will feel how the parents of the poor boy went through. And I am told that was the third time in a row.The convoy always travells at nothing less than 150 miles per hour from Banjul right into Kanilai regardless of public safety or vice versa. After all what it wrong in stopping just for two minutes to allow the minched body be removed from the road rather than driving on it and the rest of the convoy.some pieces of the boy's body went as far as Brikama from Busumbala where he got hit.Moe seriously you must be grazy to condone this insane act of a **** headed president.

Its a sad tragedy that this happened. Anyway, we will never know the true story but i believe the Police should do their duty to ensure that the routes taken by the President are cleared enough to avoid accidents.

Somebody did not do his job and this child had to die. We hope he did not die in vain and measures should be in place to avoid similar occurences.

The speeds of the motorcade should also be reviewed considering population density, condition of the roads and the ablity of the police to ensure safety. May be the routes should be manned by the military especially if they are sitting in the baracks just eating BENACHIN. This could be a peacetime duty and assist the police.

What do you think.

A sad tragedy! Accidents do occur unexpectedly. Death can come anytime (on the fateful day). May his soul R.I.P and grant the parents consolation through GOD.

CRITICALLY THERE ARE NO POLITICAL POINTS TO SCORE ON THIS TRAGEDY. The legal experts would look for MURDER, MAN SLAUGHTER, BORDEN OF PROOF & ANY FOUL PLAY IN TERMS OF NEGLIGENCE TO SEVER RESPONSIBLILITIES.

Some interesting quotes are relevant here;
i) 'we appear to be making things difficult for ourselves by "criming" things that aren't actually crimes. '
ii) ' We should stop being "obsessed" with targets and need a return to "common-sense".
iii) 'Each case would be looked at its own merits.'
iv) 'There is absolutely no advantage to try to make out there is crime if there isn't.

On Moe's reactions to the convoy and Deyda Hydara. The late Deyda was considered a state enemy and appear to have been assasinated until truth exposed.

Thanks!

Ok Sibo, Just don't put words in my mouth. You know nothing about me to ask me about compassion . Plain and simple this was an accident and the question is what measures were put in place to avoid a sad tragedy like this. You never answered my question where were the parents and didn't they teach the child to look both left and right when crossing the road ?. When did the accident happen before the presidential convoy was passing or was it after?. Am not here to make excuses for anyone's carelessness yet don't mistake an accident for murder. Just tell me bro what were they supposed to do ? . This story is incomplete and the truth about the whole story is being sugar coated. Don't tell me what you want me to hear tell me everything that happened and led to the accident, then we can talk......................................................Peace

The first thing i would teach my child at the age of 12 or younger especially with "NO ADULT SUPERVISION" is to look right first and then left and then right and then left before crossing the road cos there are some stupid drivers out there...........................................Peace

Sure, I don´t know anything about you, but from what you wrote, you sound cold. Now you are making it saound like it is the parents´ fault, but ít´s not. Maybe they did teach their child to look both ways before crossing the road. This was an accident, not a murder, no one claimed it´s a murder, but the least the president´s convoy can do is to stop at check what happened.

Why are these presidential convoys that large ?
Why dont these convoys follow the traffic rules and drive at a normal speed ?
Why are there jeeps with gunfires beyond and behind the presidential vehicle
Why do they block the roads for hours if a convoy will pass bye ?

In my country, if the King or the Prime minister have to be at some place or manifestation they are escorted by 1 police car and 2 police motorcycles. And they do follow the traffic rules especially concerning speed limits.

Moe you're silly, it's an accident fair enough, but what is wrong in the convoy travelling at 30 miles an hour rather speeding as such, I am sure if any member of the public (including your stupid self) should move at such a silly speed will spend the rest of that day in a police cell. Now tell me Jammeh as the incopetent president who should set the example is voilating with impunity, if there is fair play who can the trafic officer done for speeding on public roads.Last week I stood at on the Kairaba avenue and a group of students and other youths organisations matched passed me advocating for speed limits on public roads, but to me the president shuld first be told off that before any one else,I mean he is not above the law at the end of the day but an employee of the public like any other civil servant.Only narrow minded elements like Moe thinks he is a president and therefore equivalent to an Angel and will not hesitate to certify him to even kill.Lets be honest to our selves moe Being the head of state does not make your life better than any ordinary peasant, but by shamelessly defending this stupid act of a so call head of state,Moe you are only acting a slave to your conscience.

Moe again your posting tells me that you are out of touch with the reality in the Gambia, The way you underate the convoy of jammeh tells me that u really got no idea of the convoy, ask anyone in the Gambia about the nature of the Jammeh's Convoy and if the person is honest with u can only tell you , when ever Jammeh is passing is as if the country is at war with Hitler. To me all that is a waste of public fund putting into account the cost of running that fleet of variety of military trucks with tankers, limousines, military jeeps,4*4 drives you name it.And for your information that very accident was in my present as I parked my car to let the evil convoy pass at farato,I was told of the others but this very one is in my very present just call anyone from busumbala to confirm this story.I was only sad and disgusted I drove off road all the way to Yundum to avoid the poor boys blood on the road. You stupidly ask where were the boys parents simply forgeting that presidential convoy with the siren nose always attract attention especially in kids, and there you are, kids being only kids try to cross to be the other side of the road. Its up to the president to consider that in village and towns along the way and put into account the speed limits for the safety of every one.

Repeating again that its a TRAGEDIC ACCIDENT. Therefore its pointless to raise it for scandal, to cause disrepute to Jammeh for political advantage. In simple terms, Presidential convoys follows after the road TRAFFIC IS SWEPT CLEAR WITH SIRENS & MOTOCADE. The DRIVER STEERS WELL ON A CLEAR, HIGH RISKS ROAD AND CHANCES OF RECKLESSNESS ARE DISCOUNTED.

The rest of this tragedic incident DEPENDS ON FAITH & LEGAL EXPERTS FOR FAMILIES OF DECEASED. Am sorry to say; "NO POLITICS IN THIS NEWS OR RUMOUR MONGERING STORY"
