April 10-11 Victim Cry For Medical Support

Abdou Karim Jammeh , 29, who was one of the students shot during the April 10 and 11 demonstrations in the country, in the year 2000, had cried out for help.
This came on the heels of efforts made by his family to take him to Dakar for treatment. The victim said that while he was in Dakar, his doctor advised him to go for overseas treatment to enable him to walk on his own. The distraught looking Young man explained that he was admitted for four (4) months at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital in Banjul.
Mr. Jammeh showed his right knee to this reporter where he was shot. He explained that the bullet passed through his knee thereby causing serious bone fractures deterring him from bending his leg. Mr. Jammeh is currently using a crutch, in a bid to support himself when walking.
He said that he had written to the office of the president on several occasions seeking for medical help but that his efforts are yet to bear fruits.
