| KOBO,you have mis-interpreted the meaning of my posting,I was not at all saying that money should not be spent in the way the government thinks fit all I was pointing out was that the rumor was, that the promoted police officers were allegedly mostly from the Jola,tribe ,the other tribal groupings within the Gambia Police appeared to be under represented in this round of promotions. |

Yes Toubab, POINTS NOTED but I cannot substantiated on ALLEDGED TRIBALISM & NEPOTISM PROMOTIONS. Please take note that there is A GOOD DEFENCE BUDGET (IN GUISE OF NATIONAL SECURITY!) & MONEY AVAILABLE TO SPEND EITHER PRUDENTLY, SQUANDERED OR RAISED TO CONSOLIDATE CURRENT AUTHORITARIAN REGIME.
However those FACTS AVAILABLE ON THE BIG DEBATE ON DEFENCE BUDGET are RELEVANT.

Thats why I put "allegedly" I cannot say the tribal origins of these officers,the newspaper report may be completly off target and not true,my comments were made perhaps wrongly (who knows! ) on the assumption that the report was accurate.
