Mass Promotions at the Police Force

556 members of The Gambia Police Force have been promoted to different ranks by the police high command. The police spokesperson, Inspector Sulayman Secka, revealed that this is part of the initiatives brought about by the Inspector General of Police, Benedict Jammeh.
According to Inspector Secka, 38 Police officers were promoted to Chief Inspectors, 79 moved to Inspectors, 39 to Sub Inspectors, 144 elevated to Sergeants and 256 constables to corporals. Secka said the promotions are based on merits and dedication to the force and to the community at large. He said that the Inspector General of Police has put a new mechanism in place to boost the morale of the force, which include promotions.. He also added that those the general public.
