If Gheran Senghore had made such a threat, then he should immediately appologise even if he didn't mean it. Death threats could have far-reaching consequences; he should know better.
My advice to Mr. Pa Nderry M'bai is to understand that sometimes good old friends fall-out, but this does not mean you have to go public about their private lives. If Gheran was dumped by his African-American wife/girlfriend, what good is that for public consumption or The Gambia's good? I will call that pettiness, imaturity and vindictiveness.
To conclude, i would like to plead with you, Mr. Mbai, please do not pursue this matter further with Gheran's military bosses (i read in your paper that you have already complained about him to Sprint...his employer). Remember that an average Gambian living abroad 'looks' after a whole family back home...always remember that.
Please lets exercise maturity even where we disagree, animosity and enemity compound the problems of our lives. Make it up guys, it is not impossible, cheers. |

| Sitting on your little laptop & making enemies for the sake of earning readers would not be very wise. Its real people he is accusing & affecting, He needs to be careful. There is a thin line between investigative journalism & provoking innocents. No one likes to have their name splashed in public with negative imagery . |

One area i will disagree with Mr. Mbai's style of journalism is intruding into the private lives of people. This should be avoided at all cost. The fact that people even talk about the private lives of certain public figures is not about the individuals per se, but the integerity of the office they occupy is what is normally safeguarded; or making them swallow their own bitter pills by previously taking a high moral ground in public about issues they now find themselves entangled with(as in the recent case of New York Governor).
There is no shortage of good reportable news of national importance, i think this should be the pre-occupation of us all; not character assasination. But a profession is like an education, it is a process, not a project. Hopefully, we will all be able to accept our short-comings; because it is only through this that we can improve.

" I checked my voicemail, only to be greeted by a death threat coming from a United States soldier. He made my day bad because since the murder of my mentor Deyda Hydara by the Gambian Government, I have been tormented by such nightmares. I hate killers and their supporters. He also disrupted my University classes. I could hardly read, since he made the threats. I am not scared, but I felt bad that a novice is threatening me in the land of Freedom. This is Un-American. Gheran Senghore should be brought to book for his cowardly act. It's only cowards who hide under the cover of dark to kill others." said MBai.
If this came as true then.
Then don't give up mbai, maybe this is what he want, to terrorize you and your environment. Yes Fear no one but Allah!
If justice took its roll then he should have the consequence of this uncivilized behaviour. don't he know that the military also have rules at least in the free world. I personally have some way of problems with some presses, particularly in private affair like in some boulevard-news. but we all should know that the LIFE is(1)worthy than any /everything's.
