Writing under the topic 'Regime Change...'on Gambia Echo, Mr. Mathew K. Jallow (Associate Editor) had broken all barriers of decency by 'insulting' Gambians working for the Gambia Government.

First, i have to make it categorically clear that i am not a member or sympathiser of the ruling APRC Party. However, this does not mean when the truth is to be spoken, words have to be manipulated.

Among other things, Mr. Mathew K. Jallow writes: '....as far as we are concerned, only selfish, heartless and wicked Gambians, who do not care about the lives of our fellow Countrymen, will work and prolong the brutality of this disastrous regime'.

This are very harsh words indeed, Mr. Jallow! I do not mean any disrespect here, but quite frankly, these words should not be coming from you...for God sake you should know what is rude and what is polite. Besides, you are an Associate Editor (whatever that means) and therefore, you might be looked upon as a role model by the up-coming generation of independent, impartial and respectful journalists.

Mr. Jallow, to work for once country is an honour (and some will even say it is a privilege). What is wicked, heartless or criminal about that is baffling. Decent Gambians, hard-working Gambians working tirelessly to look after their families, paying their taxes, their childrens' school fees, etc deserve commendation from us in the west, not insults.

Meanwhile, i hope you will have the decency to write a re-joinder and appologise to Mr. Lamin Waa Juwara for the abusive words used against him.

To conclude i would like to remind you about this Mandinka saying: 'where there is no shortage of polite words, rude words should never be uttered'

You are an elder, allow us to learn from you, please...God be with you.

It was SENSATIONAL & EMOTIONS AROUSED B'CAUSE OF VICTIMISATION, POLITICAL BULLYING, ABUSE & HARASSMENTS (AS SUFFERING HAS ESCALATED SINCE JUNTA TAKE-OVER REIGNS OF POWER); therefore I tend to defer with your opinions. There is no cause for CENSORSHIP from you COMRADE BUBA!

"EVERYONE IS ENTITLE TO YOUR OPINIONS!"

Thanks!

Sorry Kobo but i don't think Buba is censoring anybody but he is just demanding factual expression on a public medium and this is no sensationalism(which equates to spicing up the TRUTH)either but a downright lie and defamation of character by a pseudo-intellectual who believes everything he reads and hears especially when it comes from the Freedom Newspaper(if at all it can pass the basic test of a newspaper). It is funny how the Gambia echo springs up to disassociate itself from Mathew Jallow every time he publicly defecate(dool ak dai)himself in the same medium without any disclaimer and yet still introduce him as an Associate Editor. I can understand why Nderry is fuming against the "hate and malicious" who are stooped to degrade him when especially they have committed the same sin. If Mr Sankareh was as genuine as he claimed to be he should have consulted Waa Juwara before publishing Mathew's arrogantly ignorant piece. Quelle Journalism.

Hi Kobo, i can understand where you are coming from, but positive criticism is the way forward. And don't forget about the theme of Mathew's piece: Injustice, Cruelty, ect. The way to remedy that is not to cause injustice or show disrespect to others who have nothing to do with it. This is the very fabric of my posting.

Meanwhile, i do not think censorship can take place here in batanba (but even if it is possible, it will not come from me). Anyway, thanks for your thoughts; and lets keep these discussions going, i think they are extremely important...bless.

I also do not think that one can unquestionably state that each and every individual working in the Gambian administration is selfish and wicked just because they are working there in. Certainly some of them are there simply self serving and selfish in every manner but there are others who were employed even before the advent of the current administration and stayed on in gain full employment , taking care of their families and doing their very best to earn a just salary .Those so doing would have been insulted by Mathew and that would be unjustifiable ,i suppose Mathew was referring to the type who kept their jobs and continued to selfishly hold on whilst abusing the system or doing such acts against the citizenry and thereby aid and abet the government in the criminal activities he was alluding to. It is unreasonable to ask all employees of the government to quit and if they do what shall they depend on to take care of their needs?
