today i sat in my surgery(dental) and pondered the meaning of life as we had a quiet day with few clients.
The phone goes and a half french /half english lady needs attention and found me on the net.
I duly saw her and during the history-taking it transpires she lives in Abidjan.
Naturally i start banging on about west africa, gambia, senegal, didier droga, benachin, tama drums, jokors on sunday, my gambian wife, the weather , the beach, etc etc.
in the background i always have radio wazapon online streaming. with thione seck, youssou, salif, baaba, cheik lo, iso lo etc etc and as i speak salif is belting out "soumbouya(sina) my fave song.
She tells me she will let me into a secret after the appointment.
i restored her tooth rather nicely while yow doom hit the airwaves - great track- and then she says.............
" i am salif keita's second wife, and next time he is around, we will meet you and mrs lurker for supper!".
wow!.

lurker, congratulation, you are a lucky man. And I have toothpain today.  I should have gone to the dentist last month, but I am such a terrible coward... |
