There has to be a point when you stand up and be counted and this is mine .... I've stayed away from this forum for a while (ok, I admit to sometimes still checking what was being posted!)but have come to the conclusion that I would be playing into another member's hands by giving him the power over my cyber surfing. Therefore, after much thought I have decided to continue to post on this site and take part in discussions but absolutely refuse to play along with his thinly-veiled hatred of anyone who doesn't agree with his topic of the day.
It's all too easy in cyber space to put a potentially 'hot' topic on this site (as you will see from my one-liners already posted) then stand by and fan the fires with alleged wrong-doings/slights, etc because it's not the same as dealing with 'real people' face-to-face. Yet it is a manner of inciting and promoting racial/religious/geographical stereotyping which shouldn't be condoned. You see, intolerance and discrimination is not just an issue for Gambians and/or muslims but for everyone on this planet which some posters seem to forget!
I'll be interested to see how my experiment pans out ..... after all we in the west are not expected to take offence at postings blaming us for the decline of morals in the Gambia for example, so there shouldn't be any outrage at me openly giving my opinion on what I perceive to be a systematic attempt at instigating a divide between members on this site.
You are all welcome to reply to me via private messages or indeed on this forum and of course I don't expect people to agree, condone, support my thinking (unlike some here!) but that's what an inclusive society is all about. Peace out ... as they say in the world of hip hop and beyond |

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices. |

MeMe I see you more as the 'mouse that roared'. In your own way you're every bit as provocative as turk. |

Tolerant! You can't tolarate me posting my opinion. That may be true that I am more subversive focusing on politics, you on the other hand, are subversive on individuals. As you personalize the issue, I target messages, you target messenger.
