Birds of a feather and all that. By the way guys sorry to disappoint you I was born and raised in Britain it was my Grandparents who brought over my parents to England in 1950's and 60's. Once again your theories are groundless as for blackmail. Don't be so paranoid karamba I'm just state some facts. That writers on different fora outside of the Gambia and also including them have been arrested for inciting terrorism be it to with the ongoing oil war or inciting regime change. There is no need to enter into any form of blackmail with you Karamba. Come on surely Karamba your not so naive to think that people in Gambia including the authorities don't read our posts. Bantabaa in Cyberspace has for years been a popular site. Alas these postings are not just banta between those of us who post on it but are read by international readers from all walks of life. Surely you must be aware of that by now Karamba.

Paranoia ! Paranoia !
Is that your heart beat madam? You must be joking to think that a word from you is taken any serious. You play very low to cause even a pinch. What you call a bite, I see that as ice melting. The one you call president is a common criminal before the good eyes of decent Gambians. Why then would you expect anyone to take this scrap for what it is not?? You are addressing the person in all regards. |

thanks for your concern Karamba my heart is fine thank-you. I am not in a biting mood far from it Karamba apart from eating my dinner which is presently cooking. By the way Karamba who else are we suppose to call President of Gambia is it you by any chance beacause you seemed to start canvassing here straight after the elections, which was kind of odd. What is your definition of decent Gambians I would presume that the majority of Gambia's are decent people, and like all nations there are ones who are not. But I don't necessary think that all decent Gambians would automatically side with you Karamba over Jammeh[:].

Sister Omega,
You are getting it far too wrong. My field is not to become president. I am concerned about the manner a bunch of bandits are robbing my nation and will continue to denounce that no matter who is president or blind fanatical supporter. This state of affairs is not just sustainable and in many years resistance to injustice will always prevail over evil conduct. Call names and enjoy your thoughts. That is still not able to drift the right people from the right way. You need all the chemical blends to cleanse Jammeh's dirty skin. Keep trying.

As if you know that wind of change is whirling.
My friend, change your game.
At the end of the day, the job will done, sometime, some place. Read the charge sheet, and you will see a lot of guilty pleas. If that's the only crime, how come you support him because he came through the same evil door? You haven't commented on the Singhatehs' still.

My dear sister,
You are the type Jammeh needs.I can swear if you are already not one of his secretaries of state in hiding or maybe Fatoumata Jahumpa, purpoting to be British born from Jamaican parents, you will surely be Jammeh's next secretary of state for foreign affairs regardless of your educational back ground.
You have spoken for Jammeh more than her Excellency Jainab Suma has done in the past nine years.
Now I ask you some few questions my dear?
Do you have/love childreen? Do you love familylife? and if you do or don't, what about other families across the globe? Have you respect for humanity, freedom and rule of international law? Do you support turture of any kind? Would you ever side with any person accused of murdering childreen?
If you can answer the above questions and yet you support Jammeh's N.I.A then I doubt if you are real human.
My friend on the 10th and 11th april my sister 14 student were gunned down in broad day light only for their killers to get promotions for their services to the nation. The N.I.A's report given to Isatou Njie saidy(V.P) was the student shot at the police and then turned the guns on themselves read over Gambia national radio.CAN YOU IMMAGINE?
My sister where were you then?watching tele?
How about the NIA's report that Koro Ceesay's killers should turn themselves in what is the use of their organisation? Why can't they used their intelligence and track the killers who were under their very nose. How about after hearing roumors of Edward and Yankuba's involvements inviting them to either confirm or deny the roumor?
How about reports of uncle Deyda's assasination?
How about Daba marena and co?who was one time one of them and their boss.
How about denying the knowledge of the whereabouts of Rambo,Master Tamba, Kanyiba, ex chief Momodou-lamin Nyassi and a host of other only for Rambo and master Tamba to be released by the police after one year in an unlawful detention.
I remembered when one NIA driver was killed and his body domped some where around kombo, it took the NIA FOUR DAYS ot track the alledged killers and they were caught and brought to book.
Why none of the above was investigated like that of the driver sister?Or was it what the Mandinka's used to say "JALO SINGOO BE FORANGO KANG(therefore)TANTANGO TEE KOSI NOLA" (Meaning if the drummer has his/her foot on the stick that he/she uses to beat the drum,(therefore) the drum cannot be beaten anymore"
You see I termed you as a very intellegent lady.
Don't blind your self over your love for Jammeh. The N.I.A is evil.
I was inside their dark den once so I can tell you listen to what people are saying. These people have transformed the Gambia for ever.Though I have forgiven them for what they did to me, they need to go as more and more people suffer under their brutality
My sister I am on record as saying that Jammeh should be respected as president as he was voted in by Gambian the people we said we are speaking for. This is a fact He was voted in by Gambians. But my sister I don't know whether you know it or not Jammeh could have stayed in power for ever without incolgation fear into people by ruling with terror.
The President must have support as as all high appointments and constitutionally done by him or with his blessing and those people in high offices must support him.Even village Alkalolus are now appointed with his blessing.
My sister if people can choose a president but are deprived from choose their chiefs and even village Alkalolus and now even their chosen councilors and mayors can be fired at the president's discression, do you call that power to the people( DEMOCRACY)
I am sometimes saddened when you compare situations in the Gambia with the west's fight against terrorism. They are far apart.Jammeh's NIA incolgates fear into their own people.Just ask any ordinary Gambian in the market square about what they think of the NIA?
Would you tell me fankly what you think I would do if I was put on even an 80 mw generator and electrified for just a second and asked to say I was part of plans to over throw Jammeh and sister Omega too support us?
Be aware my sister be aware. We are human beings too. How come you support the tuture of a fellow human? Are you angry that maybe your ancestor were sold by Gambians into slavery? Please read your history well we are innocent so don't venge your anger on innocent people by supporting terror on them.

Wisdom comes to town
O´ time Yester - day come tomorrow Aren’t thou healer of wounds so deep
Sprinkles of breed Gentle wind of peace Enchanting words of freedom
Great men are history bound With slaying their memo And power their wine
Reaching all realms Ring round their declined souls Cuddled in whispering disobedience
Integrity shall cultivate Indissoluble grain of truth Enhanced than silver and gold
Cure these remnants of greed These burnt broken bones of hearts With brains on eyes of reason
When wisdom comes to town Longest nigh broken day To each accorded thy deed
Oh rightful judge Convey the fallen pastor to heal Let the smouldering alter freeze In joyous prayers of common good

Janyanfara,
Thanks for you post. There is no Leader who is perfect period. There is no utopian state on the face of this planet. There is no state as far as I'm aware that has not had some form of civil unrest. There is no state where innocent people or those who have given voice's to the voiceless light has been snuffed out prematurely. When Deydra was assassinated the nation was shocked and rightly too. I was personally shocked because there was a possibility of him publishing my poetry in Gambia When the students were killed the nation was also shocked rightly so!!! I campaigned and donated funds over pay pal for surgery of the survivors, and wrote about their plight on different fora. No, I wasn't silent checkout the Archives. The answer to me loving children is affirmative! I've just added four more (who are all Gambians )to the five I already have and through my recent marriage to my Gambian husband.
On the contrary I am not angry with my continental Africans brothers and sisters who sold my ancestors otherwise I wouldn't of dedicated so much of my time on Gambian sustainable development, now clocking up 15 years. My love for Gambia goes far beyond politricks. "The Valley of Blame" is a depressing and miserable valley to be in because it stops individuals from taking 100% responsibility for their situations. There is always someone to blame. Why was it that the student demonstrations were being hijacked by snipers operating on behalf of the opposition trying to carry out a counter coup using the students as their decoys? Why was it that the opposition reneged on their obligations and decided not to represent their voters who voted for them to represent them regardless of whether or not they beat the APRC or not? If Darboe and co had taken up responsibility and carried out their obligations then the media commission bill couldn't of been passed through the National assembly because there would of been a robust opposition to make sure it didn't get through. The fourth estate was then placed at the forefront of politics whereby the opposition was using Deydra as a pawn in their deceitful game. There is a selective memory process going on what about the amnesty that was called after 2001 elections or a call for reconciliation in 2006.
The opposition have played the blame game so much that it is completely redundant. It's easy to place blame but its much harder and more fulfilling to take responsibility for your own life. By making an effort and working for goals rather than sitting down complaining and blaming someone else for your misfortunes which is a past-time in Gambia. When Jammeh told Gambia men they were too lazy referring to the ones who sit down drink attaya and wait for a rich relative to bail them out. A big out cry occurred but in a lot of cases its the truth. Gambian people can do more to help themselves and the younger generation know it and are prepared to make the effort.
As for corruption of elements of the NIA no doubt there is after all the security forces are representatives of the society they are serving. I'd like to know how come if something unfortunate happens to a citizen its automatically the Presidents fault! Jammeh is a human being not Our Creator. If anyone has set up Jammeh as mansa it is Darboe himself because his ego got in the way of representing his supporters in 2001 creating the political wilderness that the opposition now finds itself in. When the hands of time turns no one can turn them back and quite frankly acceptance is a key to reality, and planning future developments.
One thing is for sure Gambia has changed and will continue to change. I don't by into the illusions spun by the opposition as a doomed Gambia under Jammeh on the contrary Jammeh is despised because of his successes and resilience to the propaganda being peddled on the net. As for my ancestors who were kidnapped from Africa. I know they were born from the seed of an African man and born from the womb of an African woman. When they were taken away the root remained and they branched off to have more descendants that's how come I am here today to live to see my grandchild. To hate Africa is to hate myself and I for one love Africa and myself. So Bro there is no need to try to snuff out my light to make yours shine more brightly. Every human being has a light to shine.
Peace
