I think MOST people are looking for that one special person to share their life with. Even if this ends up as serial monogamy rather than one match for a wholelife time.

Kayjatta congratulations on 10 years. That is a success story. I love the stories of old people who have been together 60 or 70 years. WOW!

No I am happy to hand that over. Just got a couple of days off work and I am catching up a bit online. Off now to do some school work. Back to work tomorrow, parents evening. Then another week following this before I break up for 5 weeks summer hols. I was hoping to grab a week in Gambia, but now my house sale has fallen through I cant afford to do that.So I am stuck in Uk with the rain and now awful humidity. Lots of bugs going round school. Off feeling sick, aching and banging headache. Been asleep for 2 hours this morning and going back to bed later this afternoon. Pure exhaustion at this stage of the school year. Running on empty.

Off to Chester and Edinburgh in hols for 2 little breaks. Need to get house clean and tidy ready for remarketing in September. Plus all the school work in preparation for September.

Bev, every day i am amazed at the amount of fun i am still having at my age.......in fact i am having much more fun than when i was about 20. Probably because i feel about a hundred times more confident about myself and i am in no way depending on people's opinion of me (with the exception of my children, partner and maybe my boss - which is a bit complicated because he is my expartner and still a very good friend). Well, and these people are also about the only ones i really take seriously by the way, and myself of course - that goes without saying. So don't worry - because i am not worrying about your writings. Maybe i should have put in smileys all over the place. It's just that i dislike this 'chicklit' (as they call it) because it is 99% about how to get yourself a man, as if we women are not complete persons if there is no man available for some time. The remaining 1% is about how to stay slim and how to survive a bad hairday.

Kayatta, my partner always tells me that age is but a number. He said it so many times that he convinced me. By the way, i like the way you react to this topic - shows that you are a 'new man'.

Bev, when in doubt cut it out, cherish your freedom and don't give it up too easily :-). Have a go on the book, you might just write a bestseller and live in luxury for the rest of your life! If in the end you would also want to publish it in Dutch, think of me. If you pay me well, i will translate it for you.

When an old African dies, it is as if a whole library has burnt down.

I have split up with my english boyfriend yesterday. My choice. We went to Chester for a few days and after a coule of days I was bored in his company. A really nice man, just not quite right for me.

Perhaps ' I need to be alone'?! I think I like my own space and doing things on my own.

Going to focus on selling my house and work and going to Gambia in November with my daughter.

I am in Gambia with students from Beacon community college at Crowborough East Sussex for the last week on November. We stay at Kotu and then go up to Tendaba. From Tendaba we visit the villages.
