Anyone else having trouble accessing www.thegambiaecho.com & www.freedomnewspaper.com from The Gambia ? The sites dont seem to parse thru gamtels servers.. and I know they are online. I've tested on 3 different connections/locations here in the Gambia for 4 days and all I get is "Page Not Found". So, i checked thru a proxy site in germany and they load fine. I believe both site's IP's are being deliberately blocked on Gamtels DNS servers... however, I'll investigate more just to be sure..
If it turns out that JJA Jammeh orders the blocking of a website critical of his regime, that is ample evidence to show how much impact is already made.
Sorry for asking but what is this about? I have not experienced any problem with reading the Gambiaecho or freedomnewspaper. Isnīt freedomnewspaper based in US so how could it be blocker by Gamtel?

I guessed its abt those readers resident in the Gambia. Blocking these sites is not allowing them thru the gateway, which is controlled by Gamtel. Its just like screening out things not wanted or better still not letting people into the house with a particular identity.
