Are you bored Jambo? Give people a chance!

Actually if you read my message on the relevent posting you may discover why the seems to be a shortage of replies.

Actually, I still have a number of questions about the appropriateness of the type of education offered in many parts of the developing world. Guess I'll save that until I have the time to post a topic of my own.

Are you recovered from your recent adventures Jambo? By the way I thought the four postings you made just about summed up the paradox of my own feelings for The Gambia (utter joy at going back, noting the changes that have been made, slight irritation at some things, and a hint of desperation at the things that either remain unchanged or have changed for the worse).

hello leokat, not sure if i understand the first line, but was feeling up beat.
you are right about the appropiateness of this offer, some get the scholarships and do not come back, or its a boys club going to the friends of friendsif you get my drift.
have i recoved from my trip in some ways, i had closure on a few projects that were left open, it was good for me but bad for them.
but on a lighter note have opened another chapter and i am setting up a co-operative in niumi region, near tobbaccla, i thinkthat how it is spelt, and albreda regions.
what they did with the money that was given is amazing. but others just wasted money, yes desparation is there but also hope.
i cannot believe the land prices its all greed and it has made me re think do i need to buy the land, or just find a long term rental.
definately planning to go back for six maybe oct/nov. BUT I HAVE SO CHANGED MY ATTITUDE, is was an expensive trip financial, but the rewards have been so spiritual which is priceless.
i still believe if i could educate one student properly it will pay back 10 fold. when are you going back
