The Director of the National Aids Secretariat Saihou Ceesay has resigned. Although it not yet established the reason behind his resignation, many believe that the move he took is in protest to Jammeh's Aids cure claim. In the same vein, Aisha Baldeh of Global Fund has also allege to have tendered her resignation.

| Well Saihou is a decent man and I am sure he will never be part of this. So If he is said to resign I will say that that is the Saihou I know. Very honest and very loyal. Am not sure it was wise for him to do it now, but then again he is a very honest man and canīt live in a lie and he has an integrity to protect. Jammeh needs to let the sceptics take a look at his cure if he wants serious people on board. So pls mr. President, let them take you formula to their labs and test it to prove them self wrong if you are sure of what you are doing. I am pro Jammeh, but this aids thing makes me a little sceptical. |

I suspect more will come from behind the scenes.
In the long term it may not be in the best interest to have resigned - but many people are feeling embarrassed, disturbed and frustrated by the irrational behaviour of the President.
Could it have been the Sky News interview that 'broke the camels back?
The boomerang that I heard from the televised interview was 'now is the time for a coup' the man's gone crazy! & God save The Gambia - the world is watching us. This view also came from a man who has lived through the last two coup's.......

I totally agree with Alieu Badara Sowe in his interview with Freedon Newspaper that it will be very interesting to see how Jammeh is going to get out of his recent Aids cure claims.

Is Jammeh made in Gambia or Gambia made by Jammeh ? The next level will be when Jammeh is seen butchering dead bodies at the mortuary. Saihou is serious about his job and could not hang his neck in the name of salary and status.
