Listen right justice I work on the front line trying to get youth into jobs. And there is as much African youths either from Caribbean parentage or African parentage who have criminal convictions so don't talk so much BS.

I would also add that most Jamaicans are hard working people it was Jamaicans and others from the Caribbean who built up and resourced the infrastructure of Britain after the war. Jamaicans work with in all sectors of Britain and so do others from the Caribbean and most are law abiding. Let's face it there are so many Jafakeans out there so many people from other countries claiming to be Jamaican even from the Continent its a joke.

But you know something I won't even stoop to your level because the common denominator is from the time you are Black you are African.

Sister, the fact is that cities with a higher Jamaican population has higher gun crime. For example in the midlands Nottingham has much more gun crime than its sister city of Leicester. Leicester has a high Asian population, but less Jamaicans.

Gun crime is generally associated with gangs and drugs and Jamaicans are more associated with this than other groups.

Of course that doesnt mean that the MAJORITY of Jamaicans are still hard working individuals.

Also, although girls are increasingly copying the worst elements of male behaviour, there are MANY more young men in gangs than young women and there are many more make prisons than womens prisons.

Bev please show me the statistics and tell me where it says that it is Jamaicans who are responsible for Gun Crime?

I'm not disputing the fact that there is a criminal element i,e so called Yardies. However when the Jamaican police were called over to Britain alot of yardies dispersed. You know the African social worker Abu Kamara who was shot in the neck at Angel Islington Tube Station by the white racist threatening to kill any Black person in sight. Dunblaine the school massacre was a white man holding the trigger. Of course gun crime needs to be tackled and the suppliers need to caught who is flooding the African community with guns?

But you know something I won't even stoop to yBIour level because the
common denominator is from the time you are Black you are African.

MOST JAMAICAN I KNOW AND MET DON'T KNOW OR REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS FACT (THE COMMON DENOMINATOR IS FROM THE TIME YOU ARE BLACK YOU ARE AFRICAN) AGAIN I ASK YOU SISTER OMEGA WHY AFRO CARIBBEAN AND NOT AFRICAN CARIBBEAN? I HAVE LIVED IN SOUTH WEST LONDON FOR MORE THAN A DECADE SO I'M TALKING FROM MY EXPERIENCE WITH AFRO-CARIBBEANS WHICH YOU CAN'T TAKE AWAY FROM ME FOR ITS A FACT
I HAVE NEVER SAID THAT THE MAJORITY OF JAMAICANS ARE NOT HARD WORKING OR LAW ABIDING I USE THE WORD SOME AND MY POINT IS WHY? AGAIN I USE THE WORD SOME JAMAICANS DON'T WANT TO ASSOCIATE THEMSELVES WITH THE GREAT CONTINENT BUT A HAIR-STYLE.(AFRO)
LETS FACE IT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT CRIMES AFFECTING THE BLACK KIDS IN THE DIASPORA WHICH INCLUDES GANGS, GUNS & DRUGS AND TO BE HONEST JAMAICANS ARE MORE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CRIMES THAN AFRICANS PERIOD.
GOING BY YOUR POSTING IN THIS TOPIC YOU VE NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT KIDS WITH CARIBBEAN PARENTS BUT ONLY THOSE WITH AFRICAN PARENTS SO WHY NOW?
I DONT EXPECT YOU TO STOOP TO MY LEVEL BUT HEY WHO CARES.
I AGREED WITH YOU THAT ITS WAS THE JAMAICANS,AFRICANS AND OTHERS FROM THE CARIBBEAN WHO WORK HARD AND RESOURCED THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF BRAITAIN AFTER THE WAR BUT NOW A DAYS ITS THE OPPOSITE ITS THE AFRICANS WHO ARE DOING WHAT THE JAMAICANS AND SOME AFRICANS DID AFTER THE WAR I AM VERY FAMALIAR WITH TODAYS UK WORK FORCE AND AGAIN WE TALKING ABOUT PRESENT DAY CRIMES.
STATISTIC SHOWS AND BEING MENTIONED IN THIS TOPIC MANY TIMES THAT MOST KIDS COMMITING THESE CRIMES ARE FROM BROKEN FAMILIES AND LACK OF ROLE MODELS AS IN FATHER FIGURE.
SISTER ANOTHER QUESTION IN WHICH COMMINUTIY DID THE WORD MY BABYMOTHER ORIGINATES FROM AND WE KNOW WHAT IT MEANS.
A CHILD WHO IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE MOTHERS RESPONSIBILTY AND NOT THE FATHER OBVIOUSLY WILL NEED HELP,HELP FROM THE FAMILY, THE COMMINUTY, THE SCHOOL, THE GOVERNMENT AND MOST IMPORTANTLY FROM THE ALL MIGHTY.
BRAVO TO ALL THE SINGLE MUMS OUT THERE WHO ARE DOING A FANTASTIC JOB WITH THEIR KIDS BUT THE REALITY IS, IN TODAYS GENERATION ITS THE CHILDREN WHO ARE HAVING CHILDREN AND ITS NOT ALWAYS EASY FOR THEM.
WE ALL KNOW HOW TOUGH PRENTING COULD BE EVEN FOR A MATURE WOMAN MUCH MORE A GIRL SO MOST BABYMOTHERS TEND TO GIVE UP WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH AND HELP NOT COMING AS EXPECTED.

What people object to is that you are sometimes very insulting and then put 'peace' as if that makes it alright.

It's like a child who does something wrong and then automatically, but without meaning, says 'sorry'.

Perhaps you don't realise how irritating that can be?

Actually, according to the dictionary .... peace is a noun which means either freedom from noise or anxiety, or freedom from or the ending of war. Hmmm ... no mention of doormat or passiveness anywhere.

I like this peace, Sister O!

A very interesting discussion but it has to be spoilt again with unneccesary ganging up and critisising.

People have different opinions and views, otherwise there would be no need to have a discussion.

Please carry on with the debate, it is a very important topic.
