The world is sitting idle and letting this madman endanger the lives of thousands of people and their families destroyed by this killer disease. HIV/AIDS is the most serious disease threatening the entire universe. Every credible institution and government is seriously concerned about the threat of this disease.

Jammeh is playing with the lives of the citizens of the world who have been so devasted by this killer disease. The U.N must stop this insane behavior. With all the billions of dollars being spent to find a prevention and cure for this disease, this Jammeh think people are joking. He must be stopped before thousands of HIV positives invade the Gambia with false hope of getting a cure.

The U.N, onbehalf of the Gambian people should initiate a plan to prosecute this man. In the Gambia and almost anywhere in the world, one is not legally allowed to practice medicine unless one is licensed. Who grant Jammeh a license to treat patients or practice medicine?

The worst thing coming out of this craziness is the blanket endorsement of this rubbish by Dr. Mbowe a scientifically Western educated man. This is rediculous and it must be stopped. We must write to every institution to stop this phyco from destroying the hopes of millions of children.

Thinking about this makes be cry for the millions of ophans dying every single day because of this killer disease. Thousands of mothers are given birth to infected babies who would not live to enjoy this world. Who is going to care for the mothers and these young ophans? This is madness and more dangerous than the mad scientist and the nuclear threat in the world. It must be stopped now....

Jammeh is a whole bundle of thing to have existed. With his brutality and dictatorial insensitivity, he expects Gambians to adore him. He tried to control the source of food so that a nation of hungry families will look up to him for feeding. He controls the energy sector so that when lights are out, everyone's attention is shifted on him as the master of light and water. He controls the instruments of law and politics so that even elected candidates see him as being responsible for their salaries. You can continue counting. Worst of it, he even controls the minds of some seemingly intelligent people who are prepared to tear their own skin apart just to shelter and defend his numerous wrongs. He controls the arms so that he is able to command drunken killers to wipe out innocent Gambians from this world. Much as I share your sentiments, it is not likely that UN or the world bodies will start it. Gambians must refuse to accept what is happening to them. Tyrany is like AIDS. All tyrants have a deficiency of their reasoning faculty. Their actions are dictated by passion to torture and kill and to see others suffer. To Jammeh, he is happier to see Gambians suffer so that attention is focusd on him for magical untrue solutions.

I agree with you whole heartedly Karamba. I call on the UN and the international community because AIDs/HIV has the world's attention to it. It is even more globally accepted as a problem than any other issue on the planet. Certainly more accepted than global terrorism, or nuclear threat.

This is a disease where billionaires of the world are spending money to help address. I think we should act now and do something about this madness.

We should draft a petition, have thousands if not millions of people sign it online and we send it to to the following Agencies just to mention a few. UN secretary General, WHO, International Red Cross, Gates foundation, Clinton Foundation, Jimmy Carter foundation, Doctors with borders, global health networks, research institutions across the world, European Union, Prestigious universities, United States Secretary of State etc. etc. In addition, those of us in the US, Uk, Denmark, Germany, Sweden etc, etc should visit our representatives, media outlets and bring the world's attention to this madness.

I assure you that with these actions we can make an impact. For example, when the opposition leaders were arrested in the Gambia, many of us went to our congressional representatives and they were heard echoeing the call to Jammeh to release these people. The State Department wrote to him (on record) asking him to release these people. Within 24 hours he let them go without charges. The man is crazy but he knows what is what..

I call for an endorsement of this petition move here on Bantaba. Stand up and be counted now.... Action speaks louder than words. Lets do something.... what say you bantaba readers????

Its a good idea and i think the time is up for us to stop the endless debates and start to act, otherwise Jammeh will land our country into more dangerous situations than the one we are in today.

Baldeh and Santanfara,

This is an advanced stride. Baldeh, compile the addresses and we move from there. Time is on our side. Jammeh is able to hoodwink Gambians and escape with that. His recent invasion of the AIDS domain is not a simplistic narrow Gambian thing. Big brains are attentive to this issue. He definitely landed on a deadly land mine this time round. This one is an offence against the universal family of man. Work on the list and let's move.

I think there are different ways we can do this.

1. Compile email addresses of the interest groups and circulate an email to everyone to send an email to these interest groups, or

2. Put together a list where anyone signing the petition can either enter in their names or email addresses should people worry about identity. Then we can send the petition officially to some of these organizations and also expect a response and action items.

3. If anyone have another easier or more effective way of doing this we can consider that too. We should right now explore all possibilities to make this effective and results oriented. Technology should be on our site on this.. What do you guys think????
