My friend told me that the name Senegal comes from a misunderstanding - a man standing beside his boat, was asked a question and he answered Sunugaal, meaning ”my boat” . It then became Senegal. Is it based on facts or is it a myth?

He also said that Dakar comes from Wolof word n'dakar: (or daxaar) for tamarind tree (answer to a misunderstood inquiry).

I have been told the song (in Woloff)is saying 'Give us what you told us, what you promised - harrowing pictures......
Should u have problems with my link - go to his one.

I have seen the video.
I was supposed to say "our boat", not my boat.

Thank you Sab and Kiwi. I had not seen this musical video. So sad, so many lives made difficult by just wanting to live.
