Hi All I found this website on companies in America from the Coopamerica organization. It gives information on the areas in which corporations are responding and/or not responding to areas - like labor laws, organizing, predator financing... It has Walmart, Citibank, Wells Fargo... Costco with a profile. Most major companies are listed. A very interesting source of information on world trade.

I wonder about American corporations all the time..... predators is exactly the right word...
Can you imagine that American rice is now sold in Gambia. American farmers and corporate financiers in jobs, staying rich - and large areas of the globe told what to grow and what not to grow......
World trade??? Whose world?? Whose trade?? |

lily. this is the world we are living in .once you are poor and struggling ,well america look the other way. even in india many proud farmers are commiting suiside as a result of coorperate america selling cheap rise to the detrement of indian farmers. this farmers are force to take loans to buy fertaliser which they pay in double the price. some farmers end up paying all the produce to lenders. also check out ethical companies online. if you know how some companies make there billions you not go near there stores. i will be doing a research on cadbury chocolate in febuary about there coorperate governance policies. they are ethical but need improvement. my first choice was tescos but ,they fail the hoddle ,so too much to write ,so i went for the easy option. |

Newfy thanks for the info. Ethical consumerism is a positive step in the right direction. The most effective way to change these Corrupt companies is to hit them in their pockets where it hurts. After all when consumers buy products they are investing in not only products but also the ethics of the company. So its down to consumers to invest our money wisely.
