The best movie about them is titled "The gods must be Crazy". Watch part one and 2.

In a seperate incident, there was a story of a San man who won 28,000.00 rands, went to his people, threw a party for one week, drinking partying every day non stop. After one week he called a meeting and asked his people if they were happy and they said yes.

He threw the rest of the money in flames and said: " I was happy before i had this money and still happy without it. I will forever remain a San". 28,000.00 rands is money that average south Africans do not make in a year.

They are the oldest tribe in Africa and about five years ago, there were only 2 true San people whose genes had not been mixed with another tribe. They were sisters, very old. I believe twins.

I believe their land was taken to open up diamond mines. Its a great ruling to protect property rights in general. A rare case where government looses a case in court especially high profile ones.

Justice is always blind. Unfortunately, Judges have two eyes which means they can choose to see or not see which dangerous for rule of law. May be judges should be blind too.

Like Peter Tosh said: I DONT WANT NO PEACE, I NEED EQUAL RIGHTS AND JUSTCICE.

He was right. Justice leads to peace but peace does not lead to justice or equal rights. What a great thinker.

This is a well earned victory for the San people and let's hope more Indigenous people remaining over the world can keep their land rights.

Peace

the other reason i am happy about this, can you imagine this tribe disappearing, wh would be next. Land issues are atthe heart of so many african disputes, look at darfur displacement of people, congo, many african places disputes over tribal lands.
