AJI AWA HEART FOUNDATION LAUNCHED

The Aji Awa Heart foundation was recently launched in Brufut. The founders of the foundation donated sport materials to the Brufut Youth and Sports Committee.
Speaking at the launching, one of the founders of Aji Awa Heart foundation, Mr. Seedy Sheriff Ceesay indicated that the foundation is a newly formed charitable organization in the United Kingdom, which aims to help children like Aji Awa, who is suffering from a heart disease.
He further noted that many children in The Gambia are currently dying from such conditions, as there are no facilities for heart surgery and that in The Gambia. The lucky ones will receive saving treatment abroad.
Mr. Ceesay said that they also aim at improving health care facilities in the country and to encourage good nutrition.
He appealed to government to work hand in hand with them so as to tackle heart related problems.
Juliet Ceesay said they would try their best to bring a doctor who is specialised in heart surgery. He said such a move would help the children who are suffering from heart diseases.
In receiving the materials, Lamin Cham the Secretary General of the VDC cum Secretary General to the task force on sports in Brufut thanked Aji Awa foundation for donating sport materials and its resolve to raise awareness about heart disease in their community. He assured the foundation that the materials would be used in their nawettan football competitions.
