Does anyone have a profile on her?

I join everyone in congratulating the new tourism minister. she is described by people who know her as an amazing woman with excellent interpersonal relationsship which we expect of a minister. My question is: shouldn't she be Education minister instead of Tourism? Looking at her educational career and her past work experience. Tourism is a big industry and requires someone with a good knowledge in Tourism and the issues sorrounding it. I am a Gambian teaching Travel and Tourism at south Nottingham College in the UK and I have been closely studying the Gambia's Tourism industry for the past few years and have realised that all the Tourism miniters we've had since the Jawara government have no educational or work experience in Tourism. Most of them (apart from Yankuba Touray) did try their hardest to bring positive developments in the Gambia's Tourism Industry but that is not enough. The Gambia is becomimg heavily reliant on Tourism for economic development, while at thesame time it's effects are Prevalent. We therefore (with no disrespect to the new minister)need someone who understands Tourism and can look deep into the issues affecting Gambia's Tourism. in this way the Gambia will remain strong among her competitors in the travel and tourism market.

Best wishes to Gambians everywhere.

Seeno I do agree with Sister Omega that you have valid points, observations and expert advice in your field. The government needs support from Gambian professionals, technocrats and others with potentials as some of you serving abroad to put them in the right direction and assists with policy potfolios.

Hopefully you may have the chance to support the nation in national development and other consultancy upon close laisson with the authorities!

Thanks for your comments and good luck.
