RAMZIA DIAB ARRESTED
By Abdoulie G. Dibba

Information reaching Foroyaa have it that the former nominated National Assembly Member, Ramzia Diab has been arrested at her residence in Manjai Kunda on Wednesday by plain cloth officers. When this reporter visited Ramzia Diab’s residence on Thursday, a family member confirmed the arrest and detention of Ramzia, but declined to comment on the matter. The former National Assembly Member was arrested and detained after the foiled coup plot in March.

Well its up to the authorities to tell us what she did. She should be tried in a competent court of law and not a kangaroo court.

Kons.,

Ramzia's case is sad. She is a true victim of terror.

I wish her well, and a faster recovery to all the emotional stress.

Something that is a misnomer, calling them Gambian-lebanese.

My question is what beef does Jammeh share with these Gambians?

Ramzia and Jammeh is more than a political issue. They were very neighnours and nearly adjacent compounds during Yaya school days. Yaya was considered a poor boy and Ramzia had more privileges under a prosperous Gambian-Lebanese famaily. Ramzia looked upon Yaya very low and was really surprised to see him on top.

There are personal grudges, grieviances and petty issues between them rather than political nature. Its all about hatred and not getting along with each other. Initially Ramzia took advantage of the relationship when Yaya granted her nominated MP. However Yaya never trusted Ramzia and felt that Ramzia don't like him and is envious or an enemy to result her to this faith.

Kobo,

Thanks for ur rejoinder. I cannot doubt this one. It may be even more than the scenario you explained. Me'in , **** with tyranny. It's a handpick. Time will end it.

Kobo, you couldn't be further from the truth. I know Ramzia Diab personally, and she isn't the kind of person to look down on anyone!! Do you know this woman? I think I know the answer to that. I lived on that same street infact, and Ramzia's house was always open to to people. Her and her mother always made people welcome in that house. The relationship she had with Yaya was just like any other friend/brother/sister/neighbour relationship she had with the other people around there... Its just sad that people print stuff they have absolutely no clue about. One thing i know for sure is that, she isn't a bad person and doesn't deserve what she's going through.

Also people keep going on about how poor Yaya was, the fact is, he wasn't this "poor Boy Jola" everyone seems to think/beleive.. He was living with a very civilised and educated family and didn't have to go to Ramzia's house for food and some are led to believe

Thanks Demo for your intervention as a neighbour. I also knew Ramzia very well 100% as a school mate, sister and wife. She is absolutely a wonderful person, very brilliant, professional , with a good reputation in the eyes of the public. As Yaya and Ramzia were neighbours and too close to each other, what axe Yaya has to grind with Ramzia? Even if my assumptions are not in order I need to point out how close they were before Yaya came to the top. Demo! Ramzia is a cool sister and we used to sit and chat together. Both you (Demo), Ramzia, Susan and Yaya were neighbours together. However Ramzia is left out of the boat to sink in limbo!

Yaya should not allow to leave Ramzia in PAIN! Its more of personal issues and egoes, than political.

To add to Ramzia's credibility as a dynamic person in the eyes of the public and a very popular person during Jawara days as a veteran Air Hostess with vast experience with British Airways and other airlines.

She was the only survivor of Kafungting plane crash. Having survived she set up a cause as Martyr of the Kafungting incident to pursue compensations and maintenance claims for families of the deceased on that plane crash since Jawara days, which fianally drag on and on until Yaya gave her full support on her cause when he took over power in addition to nominate her as MP.

However, I lost track of Ramzia's cause for families of victims of Kafungting plane crash, the end results and the political implications!
