In the case of Darboe VS Jammeh, what do we expect ? I am thinking Darboe will loose the case, but his move to fight the violations committed by the APRC on his supporters will ever be in records.

Oh no. Like mandinkas say SING MENG FOLOTA JIYO KONO, WOLLEH KA SENEYA. (The feet that is washed first from a lake or pool comes out the cleanest. The rest become muddy water). I will join mine to yours. I think i will delete mine or admin can join them. This is binary fusion

Kons. , Humbless is virtue. Niceness is charity. I like the mandinka proverb. Do you speak jola.
nih safoo saff. Meitei kaneh eu baggi sembai.
I will tell you a true story about my grandfather.
He was eating with his youngest son, also my namesake-Yero. When Yero touched the fish in the center of the bowl, grandpa said "Yero wonah hunnuh litdideh fof-meaning Yero, don't finish all the fish.", and Yero replied "Baa, anneh ko litdideh tan ahregginih-meaning Dad, you are also only following the fish."
That was really funny, if you withnessed how the drama happened. But my namesake was very sturborn.
He also once commented "beh reibeh tele beh weideh, kono beh hebotako-meaning the ladies on the tv are beautiful, but we cannot get them." |

That was something.
I rememeber whne children weere given a piece of meat and which they usually kept in their left hand while they ate. That piece was the only they could have and it was eaten with the last mouthful.
I still can remember. Infact we used to call it KA MERI MERI.(meaning eating very slowly almost stopping to enjoy the looks of the dish.)
My grandpa once told me that the tradition that children do not take meat or fish in the middle of the bowl is way to enable the elders enjoy themselves. It had no basis in discipline. He gave an exmaple of Eid when people slaughter a sheep. Kids are encourage to eat as much as they can. The tradition he said has much to do with poverty than discipline and the rule is not observed in rich homes even in the villages.
It was competion for nourishment, the elders abused their positions of power to pass this law of dining.
Your brother is very funny. No wonder many marriages went through the window with the advent of TV. |

But yes, i remember when meat was put on our left hands, or fanning the hot food or meat with the mouth.
I am back to those nice days again.
Happy eid in advance kons., and see later. I am signing off till later.
Thanks. |
