We've been screaming, yelling, moaning, complaining about ELECTRICITy !!! But has anyone been listening? Will the light switch actually switch on the lights? Will the food not spoil in the freezer today? Can we really do without the generator this evening! Am I dreaming or will these long awaited questions be answered? Or Should I say, Can I read my books without candle light tonight? Will the lights shine to the street? Maybe oneday we will have street lights up and down all the streets, maybe industries my reallocate here. Maybe I will be able to find work and be able to stay here? Who knows progress surely happen when Gambia has reliable electricity! Peace Sister Omega http://allafrica.com/stories/200610030481.html
Oh my sister may you continue to speak for a very very long time! I love the river Gambia. The most navigable waterways of the world that meanders through from Futa Djallon to the mighty Atlantic. Peace Janyanfara
GUC used to roar from the mighty kotu power station and all of a suddent, all the town will light and within a second you can't even see your palm. And childreen would be sent back to shops to buy THE GREAT CANDLE.Thats why I love the GUC[Gambian Using Candle]
GUC can't work the TV or the air conditioning but still keeps the Mauritanian businessman's pockets full at the corner. Janyanfara how long did it take you to run and go buy the candle did you have plenty of matches back home to light them with or did you have to go back outside to buy more?
