Ebra I agree with you 100% my brother. The staement Gambianbev has made is completely flawed based upon tell-a-lie-vision. The restrictive visa policy is a blatant immigration control mechanism to keep people of colour out of Britain. A white commonwealth national will not be subjected to the same diacrimination as a non-white one.
With shut door policies which blatantly discriminate against Non- Eu and Non white Commonwealth citizens this is basically an unjust racist policy curtailing non-white immigration with in perference for white immigration through the expansion of the EU from 12 member states 25 member states. So preference is no longer given to Britain's former colonies but to its immediate neighbours and cousins in predominantly white commonwealth countries. To ignore this reality Gambianbev either shows that you are unaware of the facts or are in denial of them.
Let's face it most immigrants from wherever they orginated from if given the means would like to return to their countries of orgin and assist in their progress. Fortress Europe's protectionism impedes both migration and immigration because it is arresting the flow of fair-trade and freedom of movement.

As Amna firmly hit the nail on the head our debates seem to digress, and so did Ebra with gambianbev's constant distractions. Tairema picked up on self -pity, and myself self- projection. I would seriously suggest to you Gambiabev to work on your own racism again. Before you try to mess up African children's minds with your misconceptions and inferiority complexes. I think if you tackle these issues it would be more beneficial than screwing up our children's heads.
As for Gambianbev strategy seems to be to deliberately distrupt our flow to stop us from debating and discussing issues. There is a consistent pattern emerging here again. Remember our super hero Nokia man who tracked down that racist's IPS to the British Ministry of Defence. Coupled with the connection between her and that other group of facists pretending to be missionaries one of the same in my book. ]
Anyway enough of Bev because she/he is not the definition of Utopia but Utopia would exist without such bigotted closed minds.

The statement about Gambians not returning home is what the government think NOT ME!
EBRA I clearly stated that if someone passes a courses requirements I think they SHOULD be allowed in. I am actively trying to help my Gambian guide get in to uk at the moment.
I dont think money should have anything to do with it, as long as you have sponsorship and can support yourself whilst studying.
I am on your side.
You are right that England in the winter can be depressing and lonely cp to Gambia. I know where I would rather be in January! |

EU
Is is a fact of life that as we are part of the eu we have to open up our boarders to all eu cit.
At the moment English cities are coming under alot of pressure from the influx of people from eastern europe. They are economic migrants. Whether they will settle in uk or just earn money and then go home it is too early days to say. But it is a fact we have to adjust to that they all have the right of freedom of movement.

I Need The Sun
I need the sun Wind, Hail, Sleet , Snow Bwoy, England is really cold!
Damp, Wet, foggy I should know The cold seeps through my limbs As I huddle around the fire to keep warm.
And every year What do I say "Bwoy! England's really cold I'm not going to be in England Next winter no way!
As a child I use to ask
"Why did you have to leave Jamaica To my Grandma's and Grandad's To come to this cold country?"
Even though I was born here The cold always affects me!
Do you Know why? Because I don't belong in this climate.
I'm heading for the sun To feel the breeze on my neck To cool me down Not freeze me to death.
I need the sun I don't want to huddle by the fire Or wait in a freezing bus queue.
I want to wait in the sunshine And it's alright If I reach my desination at noon.
I need the sun, sun, sun To blacken To nourish To energise my melanin To give me courage And warm me from within I need the sun I love the sun Give me the sun And make it shine All day long.

Don't forget, there is a howling right-wing media in the UK, bleating endlessly about the 'threat' and 'scourge' of immigrtation as a thin disguise for their 'we don't want people sullying 'our' culture' agenda.
The same fool media which bleats about having to work longer because not enough is going into the central pension pot (er, made any connectiosn between the two guys).
Unfortunately this sector of the media is very mainstream and reaches a large sector of British society.
But I have to say that nobody is doing themselves any favours by throwing terms like 'racist' at posters on this board just because they display rather naive opinions. Remember, 'racist' is a very powerful accusation. Do not throw it round willy-nilly when you don't agree with someone. Save the term for apposite use and let it retain it's power. If you can't disagree with someone constructively without resorting to easy and nasty insults, don't engage. |

I glad that I need the sun warmed you up Tairema all be it for 3 secs.
Babylon and Momodou I don't envy with this cold spell at the moment. I always wondered how people up in Northern Europe and the US survive such severe cold conditions. Which makes the British winter seem pathetic by comparison. Is the cold in Denmark and Sweden a dry cold or is it damp like Britain? I always presumed it was drier is this true or false? And I also persumed that your houses were better insulated than British ones too.

Yes peoples circumstances change but not in Africa. Once denied you are done for. May be less than 0.00001% of those denied will be re-issued.
The requirements are very harsh and cannot be met be met by most. |
