Information has been received that gender activist Amie Sillah who is an executive member of NADD was briefly arrested today 29th August at about 12:15pm by the National Intelligence Agency and released five hours later. She is said to be asked to report tomorrow morning.

Sam Sarr the husband of Mrs. Sillah who was present during the time of her arrest cutioned the agents that the Constitution requires them to inform an arrestee of the reason(s) for his /her arrest.
The arresting agents never showed any arrest warrant and said they were acting on instructions from above.

This should be a warning sign to the opposition about the possible intimidation during this election campaign.

A clear conscience fears no accusation - proverb from Sierra Leone
