What a shame! They cannot even fill in a lawyer to represent them in a landmark case and yet they shamelessly want us to give them the mantle of leadership. Where is that Halif sallah, a self-style fat cat barrister who on several occasions portrays himself as Mr. know all? He threatened to sue the IEC over the supplementary registration but the election is too close and yet the Master of the High Court have not registered a case with 'Halifa Sallah, the Plaintiff' written across. This man is a pure fantasist and a complete embodiment of deceit..He wouldn’t bite because he can't. PLEASE READ ON.
State Appeal Case Set for Judgement Friday 25th August 2006
By Modou Sanyang
Judgement on the appeal case filed by the state against the 28 September 2005 High Court ruling is slated for 30th August 2006.
The appeal case is in respect of the High Court ruling of 28th September 2005, in which the High Court ordered the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) not to allow those whose names did not appear on the register of voters to vote at the September 2005 by-elections to the National Assembly.
At yesterday’s sitting on the case, the president of the Gambia Court of Appeal, Justice Agim, said the case needs serious consideration. He added that as the presidential election was going to be held in mid-September the decision of the court on the matter would help the peaceful conduction of election. He added that judgement on the matter would be delivered on 30th August 2006, noting that the respondents are at liberty to file their addresses before 29th August 2006.
Kemenseng Jammeh, on behalf of all the respondents, earlier submitted that efforts to secure the service of counsels to represent them proved very difficult as most of the lawyers were on vacation. He therefore appealed for more time so that they could continue the search for counsels.
For her part, Lawyer Amie Joof-Conteh, counsel for the IEC, objected to the respondents’ application as she said justice delayed is justice denied. She urged the court not to grant the respondents’ application.
The acting Director of Public Prosecution, Emmanuel Febengle, agreed with Lawyer Amie Joof Conteh, saying that in the interest of justice he would urge the court not to grant the respondents’ application.

Daffeh,
We understand that you are in the kindergatin of politics and truthfulness but we are out to help you all for the sake of the love we have for you as a Gambian.
1. Halifa Sallah is sitting in the legislature of our nation. I understand that you did not know that this is where laws governing our nation are made or scraped. So, by virtue of this simple fact i don't mind you calling Halifa a barrister even if it was meant to be sarcastic.
2. Halifa Sallah has always defended himself as an individual but not his organisation. He appeared in court indicted as an individual. Here again, it is a right that cannot be forced unto any defendant of have a trained legal representative.
3. The common petition was represented by our brother Lawyer Darboe. So, maybe you could as him why he is not asked to represent this case further.
Just try to reflect next time before you write.
It is very boring to debate with people who don't do their homework or don't have the competence to argue in a coherent and honest manner.
The Gambia, UDP and NADD are all part and percel of our national fabric and people engaged in them need to be well informed but not miss-informed.
With genuine love for all Gambians. Take care. |

‘No one said, anywhere that one should not support any candidate you want to support. What common sense dictates is that when there is negotiation going on, no one unless they are divisive should stand up and say without so and so candidate selected nothing is going to be achieved. This is the exact position Daffeh have always had.'This was captured under a headline that is too tribal in content. Thus, my reason for not responding under that heading. Anyway, I will press on here. According to the MOU the flag bearer must be sellable. Now, those who were in the business of staging up Halifa and Oj would say: all of them are sellable. My Position is and has always been that Alhagi Ousainu Darboe is the most sellable. This is irrefutable for it is supported by statistics and the fact that he heads the biggest party. So if they are all sellable why would anyone want to relegate the most sellable? Does it make any sense? Is there any sense of justice in that? This is one of the disingenuous agendas of that Grotesque Dr Abdoulaye Saine and Co. UDP is not short of intellectuals. Let him shut up and drink his tea in Hamilton, Ohio. UDP will not be remote controlled. That is why they are most trusted.
I keep saying that I standby every thing that I said in Allgambian.net. Those who want to try me can bring it on. My articles were well researched and facts very compelling. More is in store waiting for the right moments.

Baldeh My friend, please let that Talibeeh serign sallah writing from Latrikunda that a right to associate has a concomitant right to disassociate. Darboe has resigned from NADD since time immemorial. Why does he expect him to have dealing with a NADD case in court? Have you all missed him? Ndey sann.
Sorry guys but he is gone for good.
Looking forward to seeing your cooperation.

| Indeed that is the final verdict for NADD. The UDP Will continue the struggle with Alhagi Ousainu and his brilliant team in tact. If you and Halifa don't want to see that just remain in doors [both of you] so that you don't have to hear or see that yellow flag and the robust slogan of Darboe! Darboe! bey Statehouse. |

There is nothing wrong with day dreaming. I am done with this unproductive part of our debate. If you want to compare and contrast programs that are best fit for Gambians am all in for that. Anything that distracts from addressing the plight of our people, I do not want to be a part of ever.
I think our people have suffered enough under present circumstances and nothing warrants for them to have to go through that. Until you go through the same pain and suffering you have no clue what is at stake. Gambians are bleeding Peace.. |

Don't you think Gambians are the best judge for that? If you believe they are the masters of their own destiny, why in the hell are you trying to belittle their choice. If Gambians in the next election choose Yahya Jammeh, I won't come here and call them stupid or ignorant. That is their right and the country belongs to them. I will not agree with them because I happen to think that Ousainou will lead the Gambia to better days. That is in fact what the UDP/NRP are trying to convey to the electorate. If they succeed, the Gambia will be good for it. If they don't, I can live with the fact that the majority has spoken and the consequences will be visited on them. That is what democracy is all about...majority rule, minority rights. If the majority of the Gambia's electorate choose Yahya again, cest la vie. That is their right even though I don't want it.
You can compare and contrast programs until..well forever. That doesn't negate the fact that the majority of the voters who will cast their votes come september don't have a clue what you are talking about. UDP has a website with their manifesto. Go and read the doggone thing. They are Gambians too and they want what is good for that nation. What is so galling is this notion that whoever don't agree with you guys gotta be stupid or unpatriotic. Hello...

Good Baldeh,
These ones are hopeless. The best think is not to see their postings since they are not improving.
You can remark that when they are rectified with facts, they, just like many ignoramuses just shy away from that question and take up another thing. In this way they shall never learn.
Until they come with debatable facts, one should just ignor them.
Anyway, I am telling once again that they are Jammeh agents because the UDP has, in recent meetings, instructed their militants and supporters not to engage in such attitudes that helping to destroy the relative harmony in the country, but only in constructive debate.
Nevertheless, their are many who are just readers of the Bantaba Forum. To them we need to come with well analised postings touching on the vital issues at hand. |

Oh yes! We need to forget the day dreaming. The idea that Nadd can defeat UDP/NRP, Mr Darboe and APRC and then capture statehouse is the day dream that bothers us all. Put is down and you will have peace.
If you think Ayatollah sallah have endowed you with good skills in spinning, well we are here to refine your crude messages. We are double edged swords. We can handle intellectual debate but if people like you or indeed anybody wants to have a short cut by indulging in hopeless spinning to mystify that fantasist Halifa Sallah, you shall be our guest. You only resort to spinning when you are loosing the plot. I know that.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Cool it Bronx. As brothers we are overwhelm with certain expressions and don't realised how far we have gone are going. I appreciate some of your statements this time, as manifestaion of values for democracy and freedom of expression. Would like to give few quotes: "We have a right to support UDP. You have a right to support pdois/ndam/oj. That is your choice. We respect that. Why can't you get it through your head to respect our decision as well." There is nothing wrong in putting across these messages for people to be flexible, sensible to freedom of expression, choice and democratised the political foras'. However lets learn some diplomacy also to point them out. |

Kobo, I am not mad at anyone. I am just tired of been treated like a dummy by the likes of Biragoo. I am smart enough to make my own doggone mind about issues.Biragoo has this tendency to call people unpatriotic, tribalist or other names for plying a view different from his. At a certain point someone has to stand up to his bullying tactics. I have had enough and am not taking it anymore. His latest victim is Mariam Denton. Since when did he do more for the Gambia than that lady? The lady just got out of Jail. But he has to insult her integrity for the simple reason that she doesn't agree with his view vis-a-vis NADD. Something is gotta give. |

| Its just sad to raised the plight of Lawyer Dento likewise other victims under APRC and Jammeh. Am not seeing rivalry against APRC but rivalry between opposition party supporters. APRC appear to escaped through once again come the general elections. Definitely we don't need bullies and dictators in any form for the Gambia had enough now! What's the stumbling block to unite? Let the exchange flow in the most healthy manner and fluency! Bronx and Biraago, please bury the hatchet and don't die with hate! |

Kobo, Don't get me wrong. I am a liberal to the core. I hate it when others try to shoove their half baked ideas down my throat. The reaction is never pretty. I don't try to do the reverse either. I may try to convince you to see it my way, but failing that, I won't try to tag you with labels such as unpatriotic, selfish, dumb etc. That is my beef with Biragoo. I respect and will defend his right to opinion and association, but I will be damn if I should let him treat me or anyone espousing the same views as mine other wise. It ain't happening.

This forum never changes, no debate just people wanting to pour out their political allegience. It seems to me on one is listening, everybody just talking .... while valuable time is slowly but surely passing away.
