blackerberry2004,

You have a valid point here in as much as I agree with your debating counterpart to a certain extend.

The PDOIS principle is that: the people are and must exercise their rights as masters of their own destiny.

"As a NADD supporter, I expect NADD to sell its programs to the people and sell Halifa as a trustworthy individual who would stick to his words and would actually deliver. In Africa, people generally do not separate the programs from the personalities they are asked to entrust their votes. Character goes a long way. That is why companies look at credit and ciminal reports of prospective hires instead of only limiting themselves to resumes or CVs."

In politic, you don't sell but present your program to the people and together with select the most effective and diligent candidates whom one has the hope of following and leading the aspirations in that program in action, again together with the people.

This does not negate the fact that the PDOIS after the first phase, in which the education of the people was the principal factor have now evolve together with the people and most particularly with the emergence of NADD as a PEOPLE'S Organisation as was envisaged.

They wanted the conscious elements of every village, hamlet or neighbourhood to evolve with the principles and programmes of he organisation and choose their own representatives in all arenas of governance.

Although plausible, this strategy was'nt flawless. As usual, many opportunists surfaced and vanished into thin air, while the genuine ones are still hanging on and are now the ones taking resposibilities in their local areas.

You are right on the UDP case and this also applies to the NRP, GPP and the NCP:
"All I am saying is that a lot of their supporters resort to tribal sentiments just like Jammeh has an overwhelming support from Jolas than from any other tribe. Mere coincidence?"

The statements that were uttered by Darboe and Hamat Bah in justifying their adherant to so-called tribes was the re-fueling substance that the carburators of their un-conscious supporters were waiting for. One wonders why these two party leaders adopted this destructive strategy.

I don't agree that the APRC draw most of it's support from the Jola speaking populace (sorry, I don't believe in this tribal label). Just like the PPP, both organisations are in lack of any principles or program thus attracting to their ranks most of the un-scrupulous opportunists of our nation. They hang on to rope of self-destruction because they live on hope of recieving some crums from the dictator who has no sense of direction.

As some of us agree, we should learn from the lessons of Congo, liberia, ex-jugoslavia, American whites against the africans and original natives of the continent, the European policies of Institutional Racism, Australia's obliteration of the aborigal people, Siri Lanka, South Africa, Casamance among other areas of the world.

Tribalism has no place in a future DEMOCRATIC; PEACEFUL; UNITED and PROSPEROUS GAMBIA under the leadership of NADD as a transitional entity.

It was both unfortunate as a delayance strategy from certain quarters but could also be a blessing in disquise for NADD regarding the patience that was exercised in order to engage the wider spectrum of our political institutions untill the inevitable seperation.

Now the people are seeing for themselves the difference in commitment, program, intrest among others with which the politicians are approaching them.

We all witness the low turnout at APRC rallies in the past months. They have to resort to bribery, inducement and intimidation of the electorate as usual in order to create a crowd.

Jammeh is afraid to meet the wider population perhaps waiting for the last dying days of the campaign so that many questions cannot be asked because of time constrain or not even going to meet the people at all and leave it to his servants.

Instead of engaging in overcrowded and sometime in-effective rallies, NADD has been meeting the people with plays and meeting in small and very effective meetings in which every participant is given the opportunuty to as any question from political organisation to socio-economic issues of common intrest closing them with rallies in every administrative area.

Wherever NADD appears, the people have been taking unto themselves, the responsibilities for mobilisation and organisation of the party. The three parties that constitute NADD (PDOIS, NDAM and PPP) as well as the people have had the most progressive and productive school of building a nation on the prínciples of sharing common national intrest, democratic engagement, sincreity in active and clarity in thought.

Never in the history of the Gambia or even Africa have political parties and the people at large created such mutual love, respect and a sense of common purpose as in this short period that NADD has existed.

We must be very sincere to ourselves and extol the humble but highly patriotic leadership of NADD, the NADD Militant Forum and the Gambian people as a whole for the receptive attitude towards NADD.

The time is now ripe for progressive and peace-loving Gambians and Africans to tripple their efforts for the success of NADD.

Biragoo,
NADD or PDOIS/NDAM is a sinking ship. The remaining passengers will jump ship as soon as the forth coming election come to pass. I expect to see you here once again castigating the likes of OJ and Waa once this prediction come to pass. From your own admission NADD today is nothing more than PDOIS of yester year. It is the same old outfit in a different clothing. Well Well your little project failed and now you want to blame others for it. You admitted that much when you wrote:

"This does not negate the fact that the PDOIS after the first phase, in which the education of the people was the principal factor have now evolve together with the people and most particularly with the emergence of NADD as a PEOPLE'S Organisation as was envisaged."

Go back and read that objective analysis made by the Gambia Journal and tell me with a straight face if you still believe half of the deceit and demagoguery you are spewing here. Here is the link. My bad you've already call them dishonest in another thread for laying bare the truth for all to see. For those interested in that article see the link below:

It is a pitty that the ambition of NADD, which is a front/forum that is striving with all its energy to raise the consciousness of the gambian and African people is being missed by narrow-minded tramps.

I shall remind you that all NADD's efforts are geared towards helping people like you to free yourselves from slavery.

Plesase look in the mirrow in the dark and see yourself. When you do, then that would be time time to start a debate with us.

Good luck.

We wish you peace and properity. But it is very hard to acquire is you cannot clean your heart to start loving instead of burying yourself in hatred. It is easier to love than to hate.

Most Gambians are learning to love each other. Some of us have a closer connection with the editors of the Gambia journal and would always debate issues of national intrest with them out of the love that we all harbour for all Gambians. I guess you never realised that there are multiple religions co-existing in the Gambia in peace and harmony. Likewise people of different political shades sharing the same family bonds and permanently engaged in constructive criticism of each other.

You are all welcome to what you are missing. NADD means:
Self-emancipation through education, self love and the love for all humanity.

Don't worry, it's our duty to write so that you could probably game some form us consciouness. We have the patience.
