GNTCA TRANSFORMED IN TO A POLITICAL ARM

The President of The Gambia National Transport Control Association, GNTCA Mr. Mumini Sey on Wednesday, 9th August 2006, told members of his association in a meeting at their head office that in his meeting with President Jammeh, he was told by the Head of State that the GNTCA should organise its members to campaign for him in the forth coming Presidential elections.
Mr. Sey, indicated that any amount that the association may spend on this campaign will be refunded to them in due cause. The association agreed to conduct meetings with garage heads and women groups before the big meeting on Sunday, inorder to fulfil the demands of President Jammeh. He ended by informing the transport union members about the happiness of the Vice President for the association on this matter.
When this reporter visited the office of the GNTA on Thursday, 10th August 2006, he found heads of the various garages within the Greater Banjul Area, having a meeting with Mr. Mumini Sey on the strategies they are to take in their campaign for President Jammeh in the forthcoming Presidential elections.
When our reporter questioned him about their intention to campaign for the APRC he said they were busy meeting with heads of garages in their preparations for the Sunday meeting. See the next issue for a report on their Sunday meeting.
