Yero Jallow, Dalton. Though, sad a poem, but history dictates that times be documented. The poem below titled “Bucket of tears” is a picture of the current Gambia, as the big chiefs failed to compromise. The dripping tears are in buckets. It is on that note I write the poem below. Without much to add, I will advice every Gambian to continue the struggle. If there is a true consistent struggle, victory will come after much tears. “When there is no struggle, there is no progress.” , Frederick Douglas, and I add it must be a true struggle. Only a true struggle will yield progress.
BUCKET OF TEARS.
Tears in bowls; Tears in buckets It’s a flow from our raining eyes Thunder echoes in the heads Lightening, and thunderclaps everywhere.
When unity is slaughtered, blood oozes in barrels When the ship sinks, thousands becomes fishes’ food When Iblish played his flutes, traitors danced When the peace makers called, the traitors were deaf.
When babies cry, they are hungry or hot When Gambians cry, they are betrayed or oppressed When the Car summersaults, the tires are punctured or loose When the wells dry up, underwater pathway is blocked.
The educated tyrants doomed us for ever The ignorant tyrants poisoned our food The scary devil intercepted our fortunes The hypocrites murmured scattering clusters.
Shorty Bangally is a traitor He pursued a fortune teller’s tale Instead of getting a King's staff stick Now, he will get a whoooooooo.
Comet Kamat’s loose head nuts Loose nuts! Naughty fellow! Inconsistent bubuuu! Instead of petting his cows at the palace Now, he will get a whoooooooo.
Bard Lamdo’s consistent struggle History crowns you a Mandela Instead of being a societal menace Now, you will get a king’s staff stick.
A trillion sand particles make an ant hill Many millions out, gives a flat ground A barren land cannot yield any fruits Without unity, where is victory???
Many more Koros, and Deydas will go Many more Independents will go Many more mile twos will open Many more skyrocketing prizes.
True fellows, take courage Don’t loose your grips of steadfastness If after the tears, resurrection comes Rejoice victory, and thank God for time’s arrival.
Long live any true struggle!!! Love you all Gambians !!
Thanks for space always Momodou Camara. We will work on a poem for bantaba, and its contributors, after one for Sintet.

Thanks kjatta. Your observation is always appreciated, and don't forget to cut my ts and dot my Is, whenever. Good teachers make good students, and that's what good schools do.i inserted that the last minute, just so i mourn those fellows, which should have been enough reasons to stir unity.
thanks, Gainako |
